Everlast Power Plasma 82i (two month review)

Did yours come with a machine torch ?

Sorry was out in the shop most of yesterday. Yes, the 82i came with the IPT80M torch. Not sure about the 62i model. I just messaged the seller with questions prior to buying. The seller is Bend-Tech which is a pretty well known company and guessing their bean counters decided they can handle the loss. Not sure if the units were in their line-up for sale or they were going to use them in other ways. Didn’t ask a ton of questions. What I received was in perfect condition, original packing and unused.

I have the torch installed and mostly wired (raw). I created a torch holder so I can swap them as needed. As far as warranty goes, the QA date is 2021 and I bought it last week, so if I have issues and they won’t warranty it, then so be it. I’d think they would at least go from the date of manufacturer and not purchase but who knows. I only plan to use it when cutting over 1/2".

My intention in posting was to show that the deal was NOT too good to be true as I took the risk in purchasing and posted my results for other forum members to see and benefit from potentially. I get it, the internet is full of scams but cmon, a BOT? LOL

If Bend Tech is a Everlast dealer then it will be under warranty from the time of sale. If they are not a Everlast dealer then there will not be any warranty.

Use the plasma cutter as much as you can for the first 30 days or so cut everything. If it works after that then most likely it will last a good long time.

Yes I have to agree it was a good deal at that price.

Good idea to use it sooner rather than wait. Maybe some protection through Paypal? I am waiting on 2 pin aviation connector for Torch On/Off. Didn’t want to splice into the Hypertherm cable that I got from Langmuir.

I am positive Bend-Tech is not a reseller. So fingers crossed.

I see quite a few posts saying the IPT80M torch is crap but also see others having excellent results. Also see a few options on other torches which I may pursue if needed.

I did a search for dealers in the Osceola, Wisconsin area and Bend Tech did not come up as a dealer.

The IPTM 80 machine torch is not a bad unit. Use quality consumables and it should be fine.

ok here is my theory… (take with a grain of salt) The seller is brand new to ebay only sold a couple items. My money says these are stollen and getting dumped onto ebay. haha

If the dealer price is truly low enough to sell them @ $700.00 then I need to freaking sign up like ASAP!

… or it just got priced wrong and somebody is gonna get their a** chewed out in a week or two when it’s discovered.

all in all looks like you got a heck of a deal!

Blockquote I see quite a few posts saying the IPT80M torch is crap but also see others having excellent results.

I’ve been running that torch for years. Never had a problem and it cuts great. My only comparison is the Razorweld. I’m not saying the IPT80M is the best on the market just that it has performed much better for me than the Razorweld hand torch.

You could have been a BOT. Not many guys can keep off the forum for a year. Glad your back.

My goodness guys… Most of these thoughts had crossed my mind before purchasing but I did my due diligence and felt it was legit and worth pursuing, otherwise I would have never posted it. I thought I had posted enough detail in my first post to deter such skepticism. Guess not…

Here are some specific details and rationale.

The eBay user named (bend-tech) is from Osceola, WI. which happens to be where the company Bend-Tech is from. This was my first clue, it may NOT be a scam… but then again, they could be lying about there location and of course the user was newly created. I choose then to reach out to them directly and have a short discussion in which I found out they were in fact Bend-Tech, the company I had presumed they might be. At this point based up on the conversations points we had, I figured it was completely reasonable to believe that a tube cutting machine manufacturer might have different plasma units on hand to sell or test with their units.

The package I received was shipped via UPS from Bend-Techs corporate account and came from the legally recorded address of Bend-Tech, LLC.
729 Prospect Ave
Osceola, WI 54020

Bend-Tech makes bending software and plasma tube cutting machines.
Here is a link to their site, specifically one of the plasma cutter machines.

RichardBeck - While I can’t prove an employee didn’t steal these, I think the evidence would suggest they assigned someone to sell these on eBay and are just cutting their losses and moving on. I will pm you my Paypal to collect on your bet! Sorry to hijack your thread, just thought it was a good place for it. Forgot you were an affiliate.

Not sure where you saw that I had not been on the forum for a year but that is way off. I use the forum weekly. Just don’t post much, although I did post the below thread on Oct 27th. Maybe a forum bug or looking at the wrong profile? Running 2 plasmas on XR

I should have probably posted the deal in that thread from the start. Will update that thread going forward.

Talked with Everlast and these were sold to Bend Tech in Feb of 2021, so warranty is good till Feb of 2026.
Shipping is not covered and no accessories.

I just got one also

I did not think about this, is the water table on the XR deep enough for 80 Amps?

Knick, Here are 3 threads that hit on the topic of water pan as well as some other excellent advice from members along the lines of dealing with heavier material. Just happened to be perusing these.

I am thinking of getting one of these. What consumables are available for the IPT80M torch. can you get lower amp tips for this torch? I seem to recall someone saying that you were limited to higher amp tips with the IPT80M? What range of materail do you cut with your 80i?

How long in the torch lead?

Everlast shows a .6 for 20-30 amps I think. Torch is 25’ so I was told

Everlast sells small cutting tips from China. The smallest Cutting tip I sell is the 0.9mm/40 amp shielded tip from Tecmo in Italy. @Bigdaddy2166 should be able to let you know how they work. Yes as @Knick said the torch is 25’ long and its not a bad torch.

They work very well. Tecmo stuff is far superior to the Chinese junk.
I don’t use the .9 tips very often. Most of my projects are 60 amps and above.
I recently changed all my torches to shielded Tecmo consumables. I love them, and they last twice as long—in my opinion, as usual.
