What have you done on your CrossFire Pro Today?

Used my finecut for the first time.

Minimal dross on the bottom -

After today’s short cut session, UPS delivered those consumables Hypertherm sent for warranty reasons!

Pretty stoked to have a good handful of consumables.

Should add, I had to bend those brackets too.

They’ll be holding up a small sign for someone.

if your welder has a pulse function you can go back over your crappy welds in pulse mode and “wash” over them. should make them nice and pretty if you can maintain a constant speed while going back over them.

Eh, I’d never advise going over a bad weld with another weld.

not another weld. you just wash the weld with the tig torch, its not adding anything, just evens out the weld.

Wife’s car needed air in her tires so…firing up the air compressor meant I might as well cut something else

Plus, who can resist cutting into new steel you just laid on the table?!

I have to say, I am in love with these finecut; it cuts so well and the only heat build up is in the corners! The whole rest of the piece was still completely flat at 30" wide -

This is all while using the finecut swirl ring as well and unshielded deflector -

Game 4 baby. It’s going happen!

That’s funny, one of my first cuts was the LA logo. Cut like 15 while dialing in settings.

Wait! I thought it was the Brooklyn Dodgers!   :beers:

LA has this one all wrapped up for sure. Start ordering the rings!!

I tried to summon my inner “Ron Covell” and built a table lamp out of 16ga CRS. Pretty fun. It’s big and silly but so am I. The holes turned out .001+ over dimension… that’s not terrible. I increased my Kerf so maybe that’ll help the next go-round.

I thought that project looked amazing at first. Then I noticed the holes were too big. Now I’m not so sure. Lol

Hey, you did a great job on this design and fabrication. Did you model this in CAD?

Thank you.
I drew the flats in CAD as 3 separate sketches. I don’t know how to model it into a 3D shape yet.

Here is a couple of great videos that Tin did:
Make a cube in “sheet metal” environment of Fusion 360:

Here is a more practical video of making a bumper pattern for a real-life vehicle, Fusion 360:

Have to say, I love how little discoloration (heat soak) there is with the finecut consumables.

What software did you use design that? That turned out GREAT!!
