I finished the 1st rev and somebody told me they thought the jet I used was a British fighter!
I have one painted red, white, and blue with back plate. May just keep that one.
The guy who wants one for his father told me his dad said the three common planes for AF are F-15 Eagle, B-52 bomber, and C-5 Galaxy for transport. So,I started another version using those three planes.
I hadn’t had time recently, but should finish the design tonight or tomorrow. Not sure when I’ll get it cut, but if you want a copy of the .dxf, I’ll post here as soon as finished. I don’t like putting to FireShare until I have cut myself.
Here is the .dxf for the revised flag. I may still make small changes to facilitate cutting. I’m sure you can adjust as needed. The basics are there. I’ll be making a back plate too.
Edit: replacement file to be added back shortly. File had a few errors
This project is a stretch being done on my Crossfire Pro. I plasma cut 2 5/8" holes in 2" square tubing. The metal yard here sells square and round stock in 20’ lengths. I usually have them cut in half for the truck bed ride to the shop. Would like to get longer cuts but don’t want them to fall out of my truck. Made this rack goal post for my truck. Worked out great. I have a feeling that someone’s going to buy it from me at the Home Depot parking lot.
Much stronger than the cheap ones they sell at HF. Using the table to cut the holes qualifies it in my book. Guessing you used a fence or some type of way to position the 2x2” and just flipped it over. I did hitches last year and that’s how I did it. Maybe you have a different way.
I have seen some really cool ones of these for hanging deer and even putting a kayak in truck bed using a winch mounted. Years ago I made a hitch mounted grill and cooler setup and still really brings attention anywhere I go. I would really improve on the design these days but the cool things you can do from a hitch.
I just winged it. I bought a 5’ 2x2 piece, stuck a long stock out of truck back, measured the angle, notched out a triangle, leaving a little hinge, bent it. Tacked everything together, checked, welded. Was going to use u-bolts for the hook loops, but found nails by the pound at Ace, bingo. I will have to up my spray painting game though, to many runs.
