Harbor Freight “welding table” :grimacing:
Never actually used for welding but it sure has come in handy over the years. I used some U-bolts to attach it to one of the $10 movers dollies and it’s worked out well for my computer stand.

It’s the result of 22 years at Toyota. The mantra of “kaizen/continuous improvement” is drilled into my head. There, a presenter never brags about something just completed without also presenting about the next improvements that are planned. You’ll get hammered if you do. Nothing is ever beyond the need for further improvement at Toyota.

Craig, I pick you to be my “special item” if I were on a deserted island!

Now I will need to prepare you that my lovely wife will also be there. She will offer suggestions throughout any task that you have thought thru as she will want to make sure that you have been “second guessed” thoroughly.

And, for any of you who might have thought I was unfair to my wife, I read the above and she laughed and said “That’s right!!!”

Got one helluvan awesome co-worker who did some amazing magic on this beauty today!
He showed me the left side cleanout and I thought he was showing me a pile of dirt from the garden!

Guess we’ll have to start cleaning it out a bit more often. :grimacing:

Why? It does a great job of protecting the pan from burn through.

Coulda been worse. Here’s mine after a 6 month period of neglect last year:

I won’t be buying anymore Pico Quench as a water treatment for plasma tables. I had a slime like algal blanket grow in my water.

Your first picture is a lot of what ours looked like. hahaha!
We don’t always run it daily, so a lot of times, the water evaporates and leaves a lot of grime behind. Over time, it builds up and looks like your picture.

I’m curious; what kind of tip, or shield, are you using in that first picture?

At that time, probably an unshielded one from Primeweld. That’s where I bought that machine torch and it came with the cup and some consumables. It’s their PTM-60.
Now I am running unshielded from Georges Plasma Shop.

Ah. Gotcha.
We’re running the RW45 here.
It’s not bad, but I feel like we should’ve went with the 60.
We run 10, 12 and 1/4" steel on our table, so I feel like the 60
would’ve been the better way to go.
:man_shrugging:

100amp would have been the way to go. Bigger is always better. I’d have a 200amp if I could find a woking used unit on the cheap.

Truth! I look at the $700 difference between my Everlast 62i and the 102i, and think that I’m an idiot. There are other reasons I’m an idiot, but this is in the mix.

Last year I picked up a Hypertherm G1650 (100a) and a Duramax (new style retrofit) machine torch for $2k all in on Ebay. Plasma came with the Legacy T100 hand torch 50’ that they still make consumables for.

Current pricing on the plasma cutter alone is $2400 avg.

Nothing Fancy needed
12 wall vents for a restaurant 10 gauge. The ones they have been getting from hardware store kept getting destroyed from the chairs and customers feet. If your wondering about the big gap its to put a screwdriver through. I told them I could put a nice round hole in the front but this is what they wanted. Also they said no need to ever close them. Tin and Jim helped me out with the floor vents. They need to be a little fancier, still working on them.
