Here a sign I made for my parents. Its my first big project and I ran into a bunch of unexpected challenges. Got it done in the end though
Welcome to The forum @claytonhunt
those projects look great!
Great signs!!! Love the positive image (when the letter is actually the body versus the empty space).
Looks great, they’re going to love it. Glad you conquered the learning curve with all its challenges.
For you guys that’ll remind me that I don’t do signs, making one for my kid is the exception
He loves it!
Just need to do some large font to place next to it…
Any suggestions for font?
The sign is about 3’ tall so I’m thinking of making the font in two separate lines (as two separate cut outs) at about 18" tall.
Want it to look playful, but again text only.
Going to browse the font library in Fusion but it’ll say
THEO’S
PLAYROOM
Could even go online to find other fonts and free download.
Oh I know, I found one I liked.
I meant if someone had a suggestion that looked well with the sign.
Think this one matches well…
Comic sans
Here’s the font used, just install like you would any other font and it’ll show up on Fusion.
Shooting Star.zip (22.1 KB)
We only just started converting the guest bedroom into the kid’s playroom so it’s pretty bare.
I do like that font for a “fun style” for sure.
hero dad!!
Clean cuts
Are the lasers not installed on your Beck’s armory torch holder?
They’re not.
My soldering tips are MIA and this old man has OCD and prefers soldering connections together.
Have yet to purchase a new soldering station since it’s not worth buying tips for what I have.
I still have this old girl from high school, late 70s, kicking around for odd jobs (not my day job).
Also this bad boy my grandfather gave me mid-80s and it was 20yrs old back then.
Still in original box with user manual.
I have the same Weller I bought myself many years ago. Still use it occasionally. That one-year guarantee mentioned on the box could have been 10 years and still they’d have had very few claims!
I’ve got a dial controlled one that I use for all my smaller wire gauge work, most vehicle related.
Yeah I don’t have my old soldering stations anymore (moved a lot, especially after the military).
Haven’t bothered to buy one.
I had Hakko and Weller stations as well as a hot air station back in my mod days of upgrading the caps and resistors on my audio gear.
It was easy to throw several hundreds in just holco resistors and MIT multicaps being that they were the best money could buy.

Bit more of a geek than I lead on to be
Why not just JB weld the wires together.
JK
Of course you would
I should just twist them and leave them exposed like an animal
