CrossFire PRO Shipping

Lucky you, I’m still in the UPS holding phase.

They are full of it blaming Covid on their lack of performance. I’d bet is it’s lost and they don’t want to fess up until they’ve wasted two weeks hoping it shows up somewhere.

I’ve had UPS do that before when it wasn’t a pandemic. I’ve seen excuses like weather (when it was warm & sunny for days in a row), delivered (just not to me or my neighbors) until all of a sudden it got delivered to me.

The way UPS pays its people the incentive is to mark things as pushed ahead in the delivery process. Usually they’re okay and everything is fine. But if something happens they’re going to have issues. You might want to call your local depot and stay on them so they either fess up its missing so Langmuir can ship you a replacement or they find & deliver it.

UPS doesn’t publish the local depot phone number, all I can do is call the 1-800 number where I get “It’s showing delayed”. Yes I know that, so helpful.

I’ve assumed, perhaps wrongly, that depot pickup isn’t available due to COVID-19. If it doesn’t get scheduled for delivery on Monday I’ll call to see if I can do local pickup.

I found ours by looking for the nearest UPS place (not one of the stores) where I could ship from or have a package held at.

Maybe that’s a U.S. thing?

I think I found it for you, may be a while though.

OK box 1 showed up yesterday, after getting an email from UPS telling me it will not be showing up. Still need box 3.

Is there any concern with this damage? I believe it is the X Gantry tube. I can feel a divot. I might be able to fill it with silicon bronze and sand it flat… I say might

I’d ask Langmuir if they’ll ship you a replacement. If the bearing doesn’t ride over it, you should be okay but until you assemble it and run the bearing block over it, you won’t know.

Well, I didnt get a notice yet but I was checking ups for another package and wouldn’t you know it, a package from Langmuir is being prepared. 68 lbs. Must be box 2. Supposed to be here on the 17th.

order 10474

Turns out the bearing did ride over the dent, and it was noticeable when moving by hand, where it would stick in the dent. I filled the dent with silicon bronze.

FWIW Langmuir did offer to replace but UPS shipping to Canada is hit and miss at the moment.

More pictures and video of the arc while welding (brazing) the silicon bronze on my instagram for those that are bored

Awesome - I love CuSi brazing - I’ve only done it with gas (oxy / acetylene) and TIG but I love how it comes out. I’ll have to try some mig. Thanks for sharing. I really like those HTP welders.

My order # 10840 and I have only received box 3 and have gotten any Emails saying anything about box 2 even being shipped. I’m so ready to get started using the Crossfire PRO.

Order number #11875 I understand you guys are busy but was just wondering if there is any updates coming soon, haven’t heard anything after getting the water table a couple weeks ago. Thanks keep up the good work Langmuir!!

OK everyone I just noticed this on the main power and computer box. My OCD is really starting to show on this and I was wondering if anybody else has the same issue on their box. The box outlines on the front panel are all crooked. Is anybody else seeing this on their’s
