Looking to see where you guys find the fittings that go from the tank outlet and pump inlet to connect a cooler. I have a 60 gal ingersoll rand compressor. Trying to connect the lines since I added this. I know they are usually AN fittings with inverted flare on the opposite side to goes into the tank/pump. I’ve searched but seems like I might have different sizing than some of the other members with a similar air compressor. My compressor tubing is 5/8” OD (1/2” ID). I could also just be over thinking it so any help is appreciated. Thank you
I just use my nearby Harbor Freight store and purchased Merlin fittings.
Granted I’ve had lots of tools before ever getting into CNC, I opted to use the same fittings for hooking up my plasma cutter when I first got one some 5-6 years ago.
Ideally you want to keep fittings the same size as your air compressors outlet. Purchase air lines that will utilize that size fitting, and buy more fittings as needed to attach filtering, etc.
I used NPT fittings, although aftercoolers have different connections based on manufacturer.
I recently posted on my new IR compressor install below.
The yellow hose comes from the compressor tank to the aftercooler.
I really like parker push Lok hose in 1/2" for this job. You just push it together with some soapy water, they also sell 1/2" quick disconnects
I don’t think some people read the OP’s question correctly. They are not asking for air line fittings. They need fittings to go from an intercooler/transmission cooler to the copper line from the compressor.
I used some AN to NPT fittings, but they are expensive. I believe the AN fitting is close enough to tapered NPT fitting for an NPT fitting to work.
These are the fittings that I used Amazon.com
1/2" copper tubing has a 5/8" OD.
Yes, I misread the question.
I used NPT to Compression fittings when I initially altered my IR compressor for the after cooler. I had placed the aftercooler in picture above between the pump and tank.
I double-flared the tubing for the compression fitting below.
I then read through this rather infamous thread below on aftercooler placement, and restored my compressor back to original design and the aftercooler is now after the tank.
I also obsessed over finding the exact right fittings for the inverted flare coming off my IR compressor. For those fittings, I would recommend Pirtek if you have a location in your area.
Maybe the same as the one for the Quincy? Likely not
This looks like what I used. I may still have a few kicking around.
