You could sell those!
I’ve made some cosmetic improvements. Dongle’s pcb production is complete and I’m waiting for the delivery.
That was a lot of work for a one off.
And lots of learning
Very impressive. If it works, I would like to buy one.
Could you keep us posted on your progress?
The greatest challenge will be proxying the usb connection, I will receive the new pcb on Tuesday. I guess it will take me a few hours to understand if the idea is feasible. I printed part of the enclosure to test how it fits in hand. It’s a little bulky, but I guess it’s good enough at this point.
They normally are
Wow You do some very nice work! and I bet your having a lots of fun designing and building this!
A quick update.
I received the dongle PCB and it works like a charm. I’ve created a simple web page that connects with the dongle over bluetooth for testing and I can successfully inject packets in to the communication. Here is a demo video:
I also finalized the pendants enclosure and pcb design:
Another update
I finished the schematics and pcb layout for the pendant unit.
PCB is currently in production. I’m also waiting for a quote on the membrane switch that will make the buttons work. In the meantime I’m learning design guidelines to make the enclosure suitable for injection molding.
That is crazy good!
Now can you make a remote that replaces all of my IR and radio frequency remotes for running the TV?
Nice work! Impressive!
Almost there I realized the start, pause and stop buttons wouldn’t make much sense so I will also add some features to make it work standalone without the pc as well.
Do you plan to sell this or sell instructions to make/program it? I really need a handwheel for the MR-1
I built a wired controller that runs on a promicro (had many laying around). Just something to be cautious about, I don’t trust wireless devices on controllers. I’ve had issues with them having a mind of their own sometimes and causing a forced jog without user input. If you can build something into the software that detects false inputs to prevent unwanted jogging. But thats most likely impossible because you can never know the end user’s setup. GL! looking forward to what you come up with!
Ah, I should have scrolled down! Saw the video - looking great!
Hey man, this is crazy cool. Has it held up for you?
