I just assembled, and now getting my plasma and water sys set up. I’m planning a typical 1" PVC system - from drains to filter to water container, using air pressure to move the water.
I’ve searched the forum, and google, but don’t feel comfortable with the info I’ve found. I want to run a water filter, but what type do folks use? I read that Sterling Cool recommends a 10 micron filter, but that seems exceptionally small to me.
I’d like some recommendations if anyone can provide them.
I use a whole house water filter, and I believe mine is 40 also. I have never changed it yet, nor have I looked in my tank to see how its doing.
I also use scotch bright to filter out any large stuff up at the drains themselves.
here is my system…
I am not sure of the filter size…but hardly anything gets by…and once in a while I will rise out the filter.
Now I was interested at one time for an air pressure fill system…but then I looked at the possible issues with using air:
blowing out of a fitting spraying water everywhere
run low of water in the tank and you get another issue of blowing air and water all over the place
-the cost of compressing air to do the task actually can add up as compressed air taked a lot more power
my little pump has run for 3 years without an issue…and if I run out of tank water it just bubbles.
If you are talking about my setup than here is the link. Reusable whole house sediment filter prevents contaminants, keeps fixtures and appliances running smoothly. Others are loving it! Amazon.com
I use the 100 micron element. It come with two. A 500 micron and 100 micron. I would personally prefer a 50m. 100 works
