Yup, I’m a remnant pile raider, remember! I paid $0.50 on the pound for it. My plan was to use c-channel for the header, but when I saw that beast I knew I had to have it.
Must be nice. Every place I go to for metal still charges full price for drops and remnants.
I have found a little kindness, a few really terrible dad jokes, and a nice sized order of new metal gets me a discount on rems…
It doesn’t have to be pretty. IT just has to hold. And There’s no such thing as overkill!!! With that in mind you still did a nice job on the welds! (I’m a grinder…not a welder so take it as you will!)
Yeah…You are going to have to do a @TinWhisperer video on how you did that in CAD/CAM
If you are a grinder welder we are cousins. Mine are best described as “outmeal.”
This is in the works so I can remember what I did.
I would like to claim I did these on my CFP, but I didn’t. I used a production partner, and they are laser cut on ⅛" 5052. This stack is for a custom order for a customer. Honestly, I should have saved the money needed, held out for a laser. Heresy, I know…
They ARE more precise, but you gotta deal with those angry pixies flying around at 9.8e8 m/s that are happy to cut anything they bump into, and they only get angrier the thicker you want to cut.
Oh, and vapor evap, because heavy metal fumes aren’t fun either.
hehe, true but plasma has pixies and vapors too.
So if you had went with a laser do you know what it would have been?
Sorry wrong thread…
Wow you posted this with no story? You cant do that, lets hear the details!
And I am moving you along side Tin as a man that never sleeps, just keeps making stuff.
I would be wore out from all the unboxing of all the new toys you have been getting lately.
My wife wants a small table also where did you get the legs? Were they repurposed?
Nice job on the top
Chicken made me hungry!
Check video at 2:22 for consumable discussion. I talk about repurposing the legs as well, they’re from an old firepit
Craig, I would give you the “bravery award of the week”. You never shy away from projects that involve problem solving along the way.
Those consumables should go with George’s list of “most tortured” (if he has a list )
And, you show a nice talent for telling an informative story of your project. Always a pleasure to see your videos. I know that takes considerable time.
First off I want to apologize to everybody for not seeing that. There was a video that could’ve answered my questions.
I get on here and I’m in a hurry and I’m on my phone and I don’t pay attention and then I act like one of the people that I don’t like
Next time just say “ Watch the video idiot”
its nearly done. Been bending customer parts anyway. The locking rings arrived today, so perhaps i’ll weld them on next week. then I can cut the logo plate on the CFP. cheers.
Hey, no worries. Happens to everyone.
