What have you done on your CrossFire Pro Today?

I have been planning to do this project since before I got my CrossFire Pro: make a sign that will withstand the test of time and still be readable.
This is the original warning sign posted about 5 years ago. It used to have the word “WARNING” across the top. And, it replaced one that was about 4 or 5 years old:

When it was originally posted, I only had the fake camera you see off to the right! :face_with_hand_over_mouth: Not sure if that ever fooled anyone but it was worth a try.

Completed the painting yesterday.

They are significantly larger than the original and if they fade, I can just repaint. I made them out of 16 gauge steel.

I will edit this post and add photo when they are installed. I am thinking of a new home such as a pole at the end of our driveway, about 200 feet from the original location.

I think those should be mandatory anytime someone sets out a trail camera… Man can’t even take a leak in woods anymore… don’t ask how I know:grin: :person_facepalming:

We bought our original 5 acres in 1986. Around the two sides was an easement for the water line so I always kept is mowed so people walking up here could use it as it connects with another small road.

Well, I had a trail camera in our woods to see what kinds of animals venture in there. A neighbor had a cougar that was frequently caught by their camera. Well…wouldn’t you know one of our neighbors decides to walk right through the woods into our orchard with his dog, which is quite off the beaten path. Needless to say, I felt a little offended. One of the shots caught him looking at the camera so I think he got the message without me saying anything.

I live in the middle of nowhere I put cameras up to keep up with our critter and to make sure nobody does come by and mess with our livestock. I had a distant neighbor that was a known cattle theft. I don’t pay any attention at home.

When my fil got till he couldn’t get out we put cameras up so he could look around… yeah I have to constantly remind myself when I am there mowing. Don’t want to cause heart issues with my mil…:grimacing:

Those older women creeping around can be a bit scary at times.

Those areas around the canines and the rear teeth both look like a pucker factor of 10.5 they’re so thin. Nice job!

Thank you!

And yeah, the anxiety level is REAL when you’re just watching it cut in hopes that your details don’t become drops

Couldn’t find a good cut file for snow gauges so made my own over the weekend. Was fun

P.S. Not very inclusive of y’all only allowing things done on the Pro…I’m just gonna be a rebel since I only have an XR and don’t want to buy a Pro just to post a picture

Have plans to build a powdercoat setup in one of my shipping containers this winter. Seems like a natural thing to add to my tool collection for playing with this stuff.

Are you following anyone else’s design? I too have a milling machine shipping container for the same purpose. I found these

then there’s these nuts

I have 40 foot containers. Going to start with the back 16’ of one of them for the oven and prep/clean/spray room. I’ll design it so if I need to expand I just move forward in the container whatever amount I need. Think I’ll start small with 6 foot of the back for the oven. Will upgrade and expand as I figure out how it works and what I want.

I research a lot for ideas but generally do my own thing based on the research

When I built mine I used this as a guide, lots of good info.

so your oven wll be 16’ deep? That will be nice, mine a whimppy 4x4x7

Wonder what that is going to weigh :joy: what a waste of money

I’m going to line the back 16’ all the same to start. 2 layers of 2" rockwool then skin it with 22 ga galvalume. Only going to start with the back 6’ as the actual oven. The rest of the space will set up as a clean room for spraying and finishing. If in the future I need a bigger oven I will just move the front of the oven wall forward however many feet I need.
I’m very good at designing and building the structure. It’s the workings that I am a total novice on. (heating, controls, ventilation, guns etc…)

heating will take some real thought

LOL, I think we are hijacking the thread a bit. When I start it I’m going to try to document as much as I’m capable of and start a thread with it. In the meantime. I’m still a lil butthurt that this thread excludes people with XR’s.

Imagine how the people with the OG crossfire and crossfire XL feel. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There is always the “it’s been awhile post those projects” thread. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
