Good Afternoon, I have the Crossfire XR with a Hypertherm 85 & having being using the Fusion 360 software. Does anyone offer services for setup or pre programming or knows of anyone who does that would be willing to show me?
Define service for Setup? ?You need someone to help you put the machine together?
Define Pre Programming? ?You are looking for files to cut that are ready to go?
Esty will have tons of ready to go files.
https://baddogmetalworks.com/ This guy does some good videos on how to edit in inkscape. I have also bought several of his files. He also offers main free files to cut.
Top of the Langmuir page has Fireshare to 1ooo’s of files. Some ready to cut and other need a little work
Best place would be Langmuir’s website.
They have an entire section covering the software workflow which goes from idea to actual part - start to finish.
Simply put, you draw your item (CAD), you select the cut paths you wish to program for that drawing (CAM), and you take that program and run it on your table.
Fortunately since you bought a Hypertherm, you can use your manual as it includes a complete cut chart for any material and thickness. However, I would recommend you use these as a baseline and perform test cuts to find the best quality (close, but not always the same cut chart speeds themselves).

For setup- I mean as in if someone could walk me through or show me hands on how to make my table cut from start to finish. I made a file, did my Gcode on Fusion 360, put it on the CNC table & it starts to cut then just stops midway. I guess what I’m saying is since I learn better hands on if there is anyone willing to show me so I can see if it’s actually something I’m missing from Fusion 360 or if it’s something going on with my table that I’m overlooking if that makes sense.
For Pre Programming- I saw that it’s possible to set up the different types of materials/thickness & detailed settings for easy access when designing in Fusion 360 & I’m wanting to do the same.
Unfortunately its not that easy. You need to dial in your machine.
Number 1!!! Do you have dry air? What are you using to dry your air?
-
Dry run the Langmuir tables break in program a few times to make sure this machine travels smoothly
-
do a few test coupons (typically a 2x2 square with a 1,inch dircle in the middle) with your desired material to see what speeds, amps, pierce height, pierce delay and cut heights work the best
You have a great plasma cutter do at least you will not be fighting with that.
What material and thickness are you trying to cut?
I also use Fusion but I have not set up any preprogramming I cut 14ga mild steel 99% of the time. I just have a few note cards with info on them and when I program in Fusion I put the settings in the NC file name
This site is probably your best bet. Keep note of your settings and what thickness of metal and when it stops and the guys here will help you get going. Lots of knowledge and willingness to help.
Pierce delay was my biggest hurtle when I was getting started, my machine would do just as you described. I’m still a beginner by the way. I still need to figure out a few things like not cutting a bevel when cutting 1/4” steel, but for yard art it does great.
Here is a simple demonstration I did a few months ago taking a simple 2x2 sketch from design thru to manufacturing in Fusion 360:
