Sorry Something came up and I wont be able to try this till first of the week. Maybe someone else can in the mean time.
Does anyone have a simple “Known to work” file that You would not mind uploading so I can start with something know to work?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the update. Im gonna get this figured out. It gonna be something wierd.
The machine will cut straight lines and do the program as a dry run… just not holding the spark after the pierce.
I appreciate everyone assistance
3in x 11ga Gusset v3.f3d (111.3 KB)
If you don’t have any 11ga you will have to adjust your speed.
I cut this with a Razor weld set at 45 amps
Try these test programs .
It is a simple 2x2 square with a one inch hole one program with THC one without THC
TEST square w hole wo THC.nc (838 Bytes)
TEST square w hole THC.nc (854 Bytes)
Thank you for the files
I have 4x8’ sheets of 11ga and 14ga. Thank you. I have projects lined up just no spark.
Today will be the day
Don’t forget to post what the fix was
Unfortunately I have no idea all I did was stop cutting the 22ga steel. Had a couple problems with the 14ga steel also. I have several videos to edit. Hopefully some tidbit pops out. My THC is not working but I ran out of time. When I post the videos I will post the program settings I ended up using.
settings
14ga mild steel, RazorCut45 @45amps, 140 ipm, smoothing 0.0004, lead-in radius 0.0 in, 30 deg, distance 0.08, Pierce clearance, 0.055 in, Cut height 0.06 in, springboard 0.02 in, IHS (ON), Pierce delay 0.5, Pierce height 0.15 in, THC (OFF)
3/4 of the way through this program the torch did cut out. I have no idea why. You can see in the video nothing changes. The torch goes out and the machine finishes the movements without cutting.
I was able to use the resume from line functions and it finished the cut flawlessly.
The timing with the compressor kicking on tells me that you probably dropped short of air. You might need your compressor to kick in earlier.
Dam man nice catch. I need to verify what the regulator after the water separator is set at. I cant remember where its at.
Thanks
I hear a generator in background? If you are using generator for power the plasma machine might not have liked power fluctuation when air compressor kicked on .
Yes, The garage only has 60amps of service. The breaker box is something I have never seen before it has (4) 20amp screw style fuses and (2) breakers I have never seen before. They are approx 3"x3" squares. At any rate just have not had time to rewire the garage. I will definitely keep recording my cuts and see if that is a problem, perhaps I will be upgrading the panel sooner rather than later. The Generator is a Westinghouse WGen9500DF 9500 watts with 12500 watt surge. Its equipped with separate 240v/30amp (air compressor) and 240v/50amp (plasma) outlets. But the surge certainly makes since.
If I detect that’s an issue (probably is on longer cuts) I will just bleed the air down and kick the compressor on before I start the cut.
Should be able to get the circuit breaker rewired within the next 2 weeks.
I greatly appreciate everyone’s help and attention to the smallest of details. I’m looking forward to contributing once I get some time under my belt and figure things out.
Thanks
Compressors are huge draws when starting, you could always put a AMP clamp on and check it. 60 amp service is not much.
Happy Thanksgiving!
So I moved to a small farm house and bought the Plasma table when I sold the house 18 months ago. Discovered Im gonna need to do $10k ground prep before I can build my shop/garage. So my buddy let me set up the CNC in his “work shop”. We are going to upgrade his service to 100amps in the spring. He just does some tinkering so never knew of the power limitation. His son graduated highschool 6 months ago and is interested in machining so we are plowing ahead figuring things out as we go.
Amp clamp? Never heard of that I will look it up between my baking/cooking today.
Thanks
Everyone enjoy the Family and Food.
