I’ve got a new CrossFire pro and was looking at making some first cuts today. Running with a HyperTherm Powermax 85 cutter, FireControl 20.6, and SheetCam with the FireControl V1.6 post processor.
The program runs great when in dry run, but not when actually cutting. The torch pierces the workpiece (all teh way through) and then the program pauses. It shows as paused on FireControl. If I resume the project, the torch goes through the motions, but the cutter is not triggered. At the next pierce, it does the exact same thing. I’ve ranged my pierce time from 0.5-3seconds without having any effect.
The first bit of the Gcode is listed below. The torch stops cutting as soon as the G1 (Gut Height) command is given. I get no errors listed on teh screen, it just pauses the program.
My guess is it has something to do with IHS or my Z axis zero? Thoughts?
Do you have the THC chip installed but not connected in FireControl? Can you connect to it and have it toggled off in the THC Control module within FireControl (underneath the Overrides)?
Yes, that would be where the issue is. I’ve actually not been able to get the THC to connect, which is why I was trying to run without it. I was unable to find a way to override this in FireControl. It just says “No Connections.” But, I did remove the card and showed it worked without the THC installed.
Any ideas why FireControl shows “No Connections” for the Height Control? I followed the THC install guide and I have both a green LED on teh main board and a red LED on the THC board. I’m using the Raw inputs on the VIM box and verified that I have correct continuity between the clamp and the torch. I have a cable from the PV output to the THC input on the controller.
I’m having similar issues, I’m also running a Hypertherm 85 and same version of Firecontrol and SheetCam. Dry runs works great. When actually trying to cut a part pauses at each step and does not cut or sometimes will cut every other feature and other times will cut out a full part but most times will not cut.
