Prime weld cut 60 wiring questions using divided voltage

Oh I’m aware. We had a Hypertherm at one fab shop I worked at, but laser at another fab shop.

That and my buddy who runs a 5’ x 10’ STV Pro table has a 65 Sync.

Just no rush to do the switch, but will when the time comes.

$4000 verses $800 that’s how

Not a ton a room in there. I had mine apart when I bought it. But I bet that vim fit in there somewhere. I wouldn’t worry about a fuse either then.

Here’s the divider board in V3. Not sure if it changed from the other versions.

And langmire said my Z axis was good. Sending out a new screw. So I made a quick cut for the first time. So that was exciting.

Screenshots being so damn compressed

I can’t figure out to resize pics. Either there too large or I got to take a screen shot. I have an I phone. I figured out once how to change size but can’t find it again. lol. They look normal to me lol.

@limitless On iPhone after you select the pic you hit “Show Selected”, then hit “Actual Size” in the bottom right-hand corner and you can choose a size.

I appreciate the heads up! If I pick actual size it was too large file and gets rejected. How about this large ?

One thing about your picture here. Getting a little crud on that fan i suspect to get the same on mine. . I wonder if there is a material to use that wont affect air flow too much. I just picture all this metal dust blowing over all those exposed electronics inside. My fan seems to be always on. Not thermo controlled. . I need to get better ventilation in my shop which is just open the door at the moment. was Thinking a thin AC filter be too much restriction?

Uhm what?

I don’t even cover my laptop and I’m a welder/fabricator.

You’re overthinking it way too much.

Tons of welders and various machines exist without such filters over their cooling fans. If it helps you feel better about things I’d just use a blow gun and blow the dust out every 10 years or so.

I think you would be doing more harm then good trying to filter the air going into the cutter. I think they actually design for a clean and dirty side inside the cutter. Not positive PW does it but I know other brands do.

This is the inside of a CUT60 after 2 years in a garage where tons of welding and grinding and other fuckery has taken place

I think you should start a thread with this title :stuck_out_tongue:

Apparently your shop is kept clean. Here is the inside of a plasma cutter that was in a shop for about 7 months.

Looks like you need to weld more and grind less

That’s not my unit. That is a unit I got in for repair.

“so on the cnc port, the red goes to pin 4 and black to pin 6.”

I think this is backwards. Here is my thinking:

The + pole in the Cut60 manual is the No 6 pin. + with Langmuir on the VIM is the red Clamp terminal. So I think the red + THC Langmuir wire goes on PrimeWeld + pin 6 and the black Langmuir THC - Torch wire goes on PrimeWeld - pin 4 on the PrimeWeld Cut60 CNC plug.

The torch is negative, and the work clamp is positive. It is generally recommended to wire the plasma cutter to RAW voltage to avoid potential issues. There have been numerous reports of the divided voltage board malfunctioning. Ultimately, the decision is yours. Remember, the torch is black, and the work clamp is red.
Welcome to the forum my friend.
