Plasma choice for Pro Table

George from George’s plasma cutters built it for me.

He’s Mechanic 416 here on the forum

I got mine from eBay! Under $400 shipped with consumables.

I’m running a 62i with a hand torch and love it so far. No problems at all. If needed when you need to wire it up just message me and i’ll be glad to let ya know what I did.

I just placed my order for a Crossfire Pro with Razor Cut 45x. After reading about all the problems users are having with the Razor Cut, I’m thinking about canceling the Razor Weld and getting the Everlast POWERPLASMA 62I with CNC package. The Everlast CNC package has the machine torch already. Adding one to the Razor Weld would be around $400. So, the price difference isn’t that much. Can you tell me what wiring has to be done?

I had no issues with my RW45 but others have. They seem to get resolved.

Similarly the Everlast seems to have issues getting the right values out of the CNC port (should be a divided voltage) that ends up requiring opening it up and wiring it directly.

My Tig welder is an Everlast though and it’s been solidly super.

Except for Hypertherms I haven’t seen any major brand that hasn’t had reports of problems here.

I have that package…with the everlast 62i.
the only issues I have is that you have to wire directly into the raw voltage inside the plasma…very easy…that way you get true raw voltage for better THC…the 50:1 pins are not always accurate.

Next…the air on Everlast machines is adjustable…it is one more factor to tune in when working on speeds and amps…and there really is no bible or book to have perfect settings like some of the other units out there.

lastly the fan is a continuous run unit…so it can become noisy…I would have preferred an temp controlled fan unit like my TIG welder.

I’m going to cancel my Razorweld and get the 62i CNC setup. Can you tell/show me what needs to be done to make it work. Where to tap/splice?

The HTP Microcut 875 SC v2 also has a higher duty cycle at 45 amps than the Hypertherm. The downside is it’s now 2k and change. I think I’m going to buy the Microcut 875 SC v2.

do a search for everlast on the forum…you will see pictures I and others have posted.
if you really have a hard time finding them reach out then…it is real easy…

I love my 45xp but the fine cut consumables are too height sensitive for the original table without THC. I use standard tips and run 40a at 250ipm on 18g and 45a at 250 ipm on 16g (book numbers). Works great.

After using my pro with the RazorWeld for about a month now, I would say that it’s a good machine for the price if you’re going to be mostly cutting 1/8 or thinner. I would get the Hypertherm if you are going to be cutting a lot of thicker stock for the better cut quality, or a business that’s doing production it’s worth the extra money for the quality and consistency. For hobby/light business use the RazorWeld is definitely adequate.
