Not really a new topic but i cant seem to find the thread where george helped the guy with the 62i not firing

ok…so…much thanks to all the great help i received when i was all setup an now …nothing…i know its been awhile…but i haven’t been able to devote as much time to this as i would like. update…i did get off and running…it was pressure dropping…i have solved and have been cutting some great things…now i have a new problem…so the machine stopped arcing…i checked tip and inside tip was wreckage…so replaced both of them. easy fix…right? never…will not fire. so i put the handheld on…manually fired and fire control fired. so logic tells me it must be something in the torch for the machine. opened it up …investigated…(i have previously had the E04 error involving the little springs inside so i am familiar though lacking knowledge)…i read that george had helped another person by lubing the o rings i believe…the post is suddenly lost in the abyss…i have no clue about that…could this be my problem also…as far as i can see all is well in the tip …still no fire…

Whoosh! Man you can ramble and go nowhere!

Ok, first, take a breath. To reach ‘george’ just add @mechanic416 to your message. I normally would suggest searching on George helping with Everlast 62i, but he helps SOOOOOO many other people that it would be hard to find the right one.

There is no ‘abyss’ (other than your own being overwhelmed). As you found on your last call for help, there are others who can help you. BUT you need to calm down and slowly describe your current problem.

I feel like there’s missing context, so without that I’m going off a “no fire” situation.

Hand torch works, but not your machine torch.

What torch are you running? If it’s that PTM style, are you able to push in your electrode and does it spring back?

ok…machine torch wont fire…troubleshooting steps i have taken

  1. changed consumable
  2. tested handeheld torch…works fine
  3. increased pierce time
  4. rechecked springs and such inside machine torch
    Everlast 62i with crossfire pro

Where did you get the Machine torch?
Did it ever fire before?

yes…has worked perfectly… got it with the cutter

FWIW, here is your previous thread:

right…that was a pressure issue…solved

Air pressure? At least 70 psi on the front of the Everlast. How much does it drop while it tries to cut? Confirm that the electrode inside is free and snaps back?https://youtu.be/2hyaNRC3tv8?si=HlB35hfLxQpzl8HF

Ah, so you’re trying to find the post where “the thread where george helped the guy with the 62i not firing”?
Do you think that will help you?
Why?

electrode snaps back…and pressure is good…handheld torch fires manually and using firecontrol

well…it seemed like the issue was similar but there was something i wasnt familiar with…and there was a solution about lubing the o rings…i think…and i thought it was worth a try

Is it a Plasmadyne torch? Has it ever worked on the Everlast?

yes.it has worked perfectly until yesterday…

Is the Everlast set to CNC on the front? And is it set to tip saver? The picture here is set to auto restart. You need to be on tip saver.

ok…interesting thing to note…when i use firecontrol…for the machiine torch…voltage never goes up stops at 4.4v…for the hand torch…goes up fast

yes cnc and tip saver

i mean it has to be something with the machine torch

If you jump out the torch plug that plugs into the control box will it fire. Take a paper clip and jump the barrel connection out.

i am not totally following you
