Neee help really bad! Cant get torch to read volts

Hello, I just built the Pro.

Before this I had a reg crossfire, so I am kind of familiar with the machines.

I wanted to do some test cuts today.
Every single torch test came back 0 volts.

I didnt change anything from crossfire to pro. Same plasma cutter-Primeweld cut60, same CNC port wiring.

I even left same VIM box on plasma cutter.

So I decided to hardwire it, and am confused. I got the wires on right in machine, and on VIM box.

1-On control box there is a place to plug in for Torch. Where does that wire come from if i hardwire it?

2-Is wire to THC on right output of VIM box?

3-The CNC adapter had 2 barrel connectors, one went into VIM box, other went into conrol box for torch.

All axis work. I can do dry runs no issues. Torch will fire, but is ready 0 volts no matter what.

I rebooted laptop. Laptop was not plugged into wall. I use ferrite chokes on usb to laptop.

The Torch on/off wire should still be wired to pins 1&2 of the CNC port.

Are you sure the raw voltage wires are hooked to the right locations? If they are backwards, you will get zero volts.

Did you install the THC chip on the board in the control box?

I wanted to use the CNC port like I did with the normal crossfire.

But when I got 0 volts over and over, I decided to try raw voltage. According to directions I have it wired correct.

So even with raw voltage, I need to plug CNC port in and connect that barrel connector to control box-torch?

Yes THC is in, pins match. I have all green lights inside.

Is there a difference in VIM box from crossfore to pro? I am using the VIM box I had on mu normal crossfire

The VIM box is the same. You have the wires in the right place on the VIM.

The torch on/off wires still need to be plugged in to the control box to fire the torch. They don’t have to be wired to the CNC port, but that’s the easiest way. You could find the trigger wires inside the plasma cutter and wire directly to them. That won’t have anything to do with the voltage reading.

Did you connect the raw voltage to the lugs directly behind the clamp and the Torch? Red to the clamp and black to the torch.

Yes, there was a how to on Facebook group. It was simple. 2 bolts. Took a lot longer to get machine apart.

The torch will not read voltage unless it is over metal to cut.

I had torch over small piece of metal so it didnt splash water from the air

Was the work clamp on the metal?

Yes it was.

If the torch fires and it will cut metal then you have the THC positive and negative wrong.

It wont cut metal. It stops when it touches and gives me error screen

If the work clamp is on the metal and the torch is within 1/8" of the metal it will fire and start cutting, Make sure you have 65 to 70 psi of air pressure. Did you try turning off THC and try to cut? Does it cut with the hand torch not hooked to the table?

Try turning off the THC and it will probably cut. If it does, that means something isn’t hooked up correctly.

Where is the torch clamped? If it is clamped on the torch head area the plunger inside may be stuck.

If its clamped too tightly it won’t be able to fire. No fire, No voltage!https://photos.app.goo.gl/JiLpczuZ5Gw5JL5E7

I cut6 test pieces today with THC off.

3 with raw voltage
3 with CNC port

Both cut fine. But THC test read 0 volts. I checked at least 5 times, nothing loose in control box.

But THC chip is solid red, is that normal?

Everything worked fine last week on my old crossifre, so i dont think anything can be wired back wards. It was already wired from other table.

No, torch is in holder correct

Is the plunger stuck? Push it with your finger to see. Sorry never mind

If you have a volt meter, unplug the wires from the little black box. Put the positive lead from the meter (red) to the red wire going into the plasma cutter, then the black meter wire to the black wire that goes into the plasma cutter. Fire the torch and make a cut and watch the meter it should show a positive voltage some were between 150 and 300 dc volts.

Do you mean the 2 ports on VIM box for the banana red/black plugs?

It seems that the main thing that has changed here, from the old table to the new table, is the electronics enclosure on the table. Look at the wires on the back of the THC connection port at the front of the control box. Are both wires connected? Follow them back to the main board. Are they plugged into the board?
