Learning 3D printing

Zero credit taken for the 3D printing stuff - Bambu makes it ridiculously easy

This wasn’t supposed to happen

Good thing I got the mini making a poop chute for it already

I have had these for several months. I delayed installing them because I thought I would need to make a new rack for the AMS units. It actually worked out fine. The upper one is a little struggle to change filament but I can pull the rack or the cart forward to make it easier.

They are in the drying mode right now. For the price, it seems well worth it. I don’t know what they sell for now.

From this…

To this.

Although after a few prints, I’m getting some stringing which tells me it has to be moisture.

We’ll see if that is the official launch or just an announcement of impending doom.

Price tag is also a factor for me. Might just have to settle on the 2 nozzle version if the new one is north of $2500 USD

Been seeing that pop up; can’t imagine why I’d need one myself

Although the P1S can take place of the A1 mini…and an H2C can go on top….

As great and as easy as it’s been joining the Bambu Lab ecosystem, my only complaint is that it is all too similar to that of Apple’s stupid product line.

Got the AMS2 Pro last week and I’m waiting for a 4 pin bus cable to come in from out of state (a member on another forum offered to get one for me).

Ridiculous how it doesn’t come with its own power supply at least; yes I know the details were mentioned on the product page and I did order those items from other sites the same day.

Just wish it would’ve at least included either the power supply or the 4 pin cable.

Buffer, ptfe connector, and 6 pin are all on stand-by.

Plus side is that I finally did a little bit of prototyping so that should be useful in the near future.

In this particular case I took something I already designed, cut out, and welded but I wanted to 3D print it with the hardware I didn’t purchase.

This kind of stuff could save me money and minimize hardware costs when finding the correct hardware to use.

Bearings would run at $22/each whereas the nuts and bolts were between $6 to $12/each.

Seems like you were saying the same thing about 3D printers not long ago… Now you have two of them. JK  :joy:

If I hadn’t just paid properly taxes on both places I would’ve had an H2D or two instead

But yeah this is crazy convenient!

Property tax time is a painful time of year. If more people had to write that check to the county every November instead of paying it via escrow as part of a mortgage perhaps taxes would be more manageable.

Glad to see you are enjoying your new hobby!!

On the plus side, we don’t live in TX.

My dad’s exempt from paying it on his house there, but some of his family there have shared just how bad it is even compared to CA where I’m at.

There is no state tax on wages in TX. One way or other they get their pound of flesh :face_with_peeking_eye:

I was in working in SoCal last week. They sure get you with the sales tax and the fuel tax … not to mention everything causes cancer in California… reading all those prop 65 warnings sure felt taxing. You can’t beat the weather and the scenery tho! :winking_face_with_tongue::joy:

Gas ain’t bad at all.

And you’re right about the weather; I’ll never live anywhere else.

I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder.. I thought it was painful. Thursday I bought gas in LA and in SLC. The price in LA was double what I paid in SLC. For reference utah gas prices are about $1 above the national average. CA has the highest gas Tax in the country. $1.16 per gallon. I thought Utah was bad at $0.57 per gallon.

Utah has 5 refineries and exports 47% of its refined fuel to CA, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. All the exported fuel isn’t taxed. I am pushing to get the legislature to tax the exported fuel the same as fuel refined and sold in Utah. If they did that they could nearly cut the Utah gas tax in half and still come out ahead. :winking_face_with_tongue:
