I learned something today about my Bambu X1-Carbon that I’ve had for a couple years now. Please let me know if you knew this and I’m just a dolt. The X1C has a ‘Sport’ and ‘Ludicrous’ mode.
That was one of the top selling points - the various speed settings. I only use normal. The faster settings mean more tweaking with your filaments if other than BL filament.
Those speeds are how they managed a 16(?) minute benchy print.
Not saying that you can’t print at the top speed, you may have quality issues. It is fun and spooky to watch in Ludi mode.
It is more obvious in the Bambu Handy app. Since it has 100% as the label and there are not so many options.
(@apynckel will notice I printed his recommended spool holder. )
If you can, and I know you said you were down or whatever (that gut kick thing), cook your own food. Less out to eat venues and no more Food Service expenditures is what I am getting at currently.
Now, about this gasket business. ya’ boy! I have a K1C right now. Although speedy and fully operational with ABS so far, I have yet to print ASA or TPU.
I will test ASA and TPU next specifically for a gasket or two. I never really thought about gaskets and TPU. Nice video and I am glad you are starting to get that “kick to the gut” out of the way.

P.S. So…gaskets and like @holla2040 , more beans and eggs!
You are going to make a gasket out of ASA?
I have printed many items with ASA. It seems to print as well as PETG or ABS but I would not expect it to work like TPU for gaskets.
Shim or spacer maybe.
I have printed a few things with Carbon Fiber PC Filament but boy does it smell bad. I thinking about installing a vent system in my enclosure to vent it outside. My printer is in the shop, and my Cat sleeps in there at night so I can’t print at night, and If I want to work in there during the day I don’t want to smell it either.
How bad is the smell from ASA?
ASA I have heard described that it is an acrid smell. It initially smells “not so bad” but it then seems sickening. I have made several things and use a charcoal filter respirator that is effective.
I would not make the cat smell it.
The smell is less intense than ABS but it’s considered more of a health risk.
It’s not just the smell. The fumes are toxic and can cause you to be sick, if you inhale enough of it.
Always have plenty of ventilation when printing ABS and ASA. I haven’t printed any PC, but I would imagine the precautions should be similar.
Nope, I am not going to make the gasket out of ASA. I must have mistyped something or not made myself clear enough.
And I totally agree with the TPU for gaskets like the fellow in the video stated as a working part.

So there might be a laser on the new bambu?
Is it a cutting laser is it a marking laser is it a scanning laser?
What are these bambu guys doing?
This looks like it’s positioned just behind the nozzles. It’s a side view with the nozzle and on the right.
Maybe it’s a module that clips on the front of the extruder assembly?
Seam welding? Preheat the previous layer for better layer adhesion?
I am all sorts of onboard with that.
The boss is surrendering slightly on this new purchase but for some reason she thinks I will be selling my current printer.
Sometimes I think she does not understand me at all. Who wouldn’t want two Bambu printers??? I mean when you have a project, there is usually multiple printing sessions required. We are in the age of being satisfied as quick as possible. That means printing two plates of parts at the same time.
Are you with me???
I will buy one as soon as it is released. Bambu has been a great purchase, and the Bambu lab software is absolutely great—at least in my case. Now, I don’t make 10-color statues, either.
There is definitely a laser option model. I think there are two laser options 10 watt and 40 watt blue lasers. Cutting and engraving. If purchased with the laser option, there is an internal air pump and colored glass door.
There is also an optional vinyl cutter.
I think this is a mistake. They should stick to 3d printing and leave the laser and vinyl cutting to dedicated machines for those purposes.
Hopefully we are not forced to buy the combo of 3D printer and laser and/of vinyl cutter.
I remember when I bought the Toyota’s first Hybrid Highlander, there was no choice. You had to buy a “limited” edition model packaged with the Hybrid.
And, that Limited edition lacked features such as lock out button for rear window controls, power opening/closing of the rear hatch and intermittent sensing wipers. That was annoying since Toyota’s other less promoted models had had those features for several years.
From what I’ve seen, there will be a version without the laser and vinyl cutter.
There was info in their release about a kit to add those options later, but the air pump will be external
So Tin, are you going to even bother going to bed tonight since I know you will likely be up before the listing is even active?
It sounds like the challenge is on: Will TinWhisperer or BigDaddy have the receipt time stamped the earliest?
This challenge can be open to all Langmuir Forum members:
The person with the earliest time stamped receipt for purchase of the new H2D will be declared
“H2D C3PO Print Master”
Edit: I guess the listing goes live at 3 pm CET which is 7 am Seattle time.
We will see what the price tag is and what the actual advantage is on the 3D printing side once it’s all said and done.
If my advantage is are slightly bigger and faster prints with less waste then I could probably stand to wait a little while to purchase one. If there is some fundamental game changer when it comes to 3D printing then it’ll be more likely I’ll purchase one off the Hop. I see the new ams s are going to be backwards compatible with the X1 carbon and the p1p. Which is a little irritating cuz I just added my fourth normal AMS to my setup. Which isn’t actually going very well it keeps having a failure to prevent print with any AMS now it’s not the first AMS on my system. I’ve been working through trying to fix this
I also want to buy a switch two for my kids and myself when it comes out so that might trumpf the new bambu. The last time I got a new Nintendo was when the 64 came out which I still have in my office, kids like to play it.
Even if I did order mine first I’m sure @Bigdaddy2166 would end up with his before me.
On my AMS, whenever I put in a new spool of the same color and filament of the partially used spool, Bambu Studio always tries to default to that new spool added.
I am, also, still losing my filament definitions but now that they added Sunlu filament definitions, my Sunlu ones seem to remain. That makes me think they have something in the system that is purposely trying to mess with me using filament other than the ones they already have in their catalog.
Agree with you on the printer…gotta see the detail and the price. I am not going to be talked into Beanie Babies again…Don’t ASK!
