Have any of you had any issues with your AMS loading filament? I was trying to print some things for my kids battery powered train before I left for the airport and it kept stopping the print no matter which roll I tried to use. It is the number 2 roll that is having the issue. There is a solid red light on the #2 feed.
From what I have read it’s either a piece of stuck filament or misaligned magnets?
Yes. I have had this a few times. There is a fragment of filament in there somewhere. I ended up taking the entire tray out that holds the four spools. It is held with 4 or 5 screws. There is not much room as you pull it out as you need to pull part way and then you will see there are two electrical connections that need to be disconnected. You might need to disconnect a tube as well (underneath) to allow further removal of the tray. Not much room to work so take it slow.
Once you have it apart, disconnect the tube from the feeder. The piece is probably in the feeder. Once the tube is disconnected, try to feed a piece of filament thru (it only will allow pushing one direction).
My issue happened when I started to push a piece of filament and then tried to pull it back out before the motor started. That is when the piece broke off, I am sure. I never saw the piece. Put it back together and you should be golden.
That’s what I thought that was going to be.
Just saw a vid on new stupid strong filament. PPACF. $150 a roll. Strongest filament yet for home use.

Should I wait for whatever their new announcement is or just get an X1C now?
They have not really been offering any good sale prices on the X1C. If you wait for the announcement, perhaps they will be giving more incentives for the X1C.
Maybe do Both?
Tomorrow the sale starts.
OIC, said the blind man! I thought you were clairvoyant but it is on the website.
BrownFox, I really like my setup with 2 AMS units. I had to pay full price for my second AMS unit.
This is exciting:
I thought you were going to do something like this:
But I realize, that might be scary for you to have something like that looking at you. You are probably not as used to it as we are.
this is lovely.
Who is to say whether my face is round or spherical. I don’t picture it as an evil pac-man, more nebulas.
Here is some avatar lore
"“‘Well, I’ve often seen a cat without a grin,’ thought Alice, ‘but a grin without a cat! It’s the most curious thing I ever saw in all my life!’”
I do appreciate the the used of a quadball form with the emboss tool.
I went old school revolve and the extrusion cut. (maybe that is ‘new school’, don’t know which came first
I was afraid that “emboss” would look distorted.
Emboss:
Extrusion cut:
Love it!!!
Are you sure that one roll is going to be enough to print a full size pumpkin!
Yes, yes, yes. I tried to print one of these 4 different times (different models from Makers World). None of them worked. For $7 this is the way to go.
They finally got me to buy an AMS with that sale.
So, I have to ask, how’s the PETG-HF? When I compared all of the specs, it only beat PLA Basic in impact strength by a little, and heat resistance. In every other way the PLA was stronger, so I’ve been sticking to mostly PLA for basic and cosmetic multicolored parts.
I use regular PETG for plenty of things, but mostly for it’s impact strength and sometimes heat resistance over PLA.
