I wanted a custom derby cover for my Street Glide, but it was priced high for me. I bought a easy Scribe and did some test scribes. I used the scribe to mark my mounting holes, drilled holes on my mill and bolted it down. This is 3" round and 3 passes on the scribe. I am very happy with the outcome.
Good job! Looks like you tightened up those bearings like I mentioned!
It depends. How many RPM are you going to spin that thing? 5RPM, sure, no problem…
She spins at 1500 rpm. Think it might get a wee bit shakey
midnight shift strikes again!
What is that? At first I thought it was a fan blade, but now I’m thinking it’s a mixer/stirrer of some sort.
Its the front blower on a vermeer cpx9000.
I put new hardfaced wear liners in it and one of them cracked and came apart. Ran a 1x1’ piece of hard faced ar400 through that paddle going 1500 rpm. Literally nothing left of the shaft that drives it. Hopefully vermeer stands the damage since they were new parts. 7k worth of damage
I’ll be impressed if they warranty more than just the wear plate that broke.
Just heard back, apparently theyre gonna stand the parts. I’m impressed.
Is there a question here?
Not really. Just clarifying an earlier discussion on whether or not I could add a Y2 stepper to a non pro crossfire. I guess i could split the output to two drivers.
That will work.
Got the machine running again. I’ll give vermeer credit, their machines are easy to work on. Had to make a patch plate for some worn out panels while it was down too.
nice work.
How appropriate for your little brother!!! I can imagine Tinwhisperer monster gives him nightmares!
TW probably has all his manuals too!
