I do alot of mobile welding and needed a solid workstation, so I made one. 1x1x.125 tube for the frame, a Klutch weld table top and Crossfire Pro to cut out cover plates. I have plans to add quick connects for a vise (still brainstorming on that) and going to be making a small grill out of an old propane tank for those long days in the field.
Never tried cooking out of a propane tank before. How hard is the smell to get out of the tank?
I cut a 100 lb tankdown once using a band saw with coolant to make a hydraulic oil reservoir. I about choked trying to get the smell out of the shop.
Bypass it. I am sure your air system has a regulator.
I know you have a primeweld. I removed the factory regulator from my Everlast. I’m sure you thought of that. If anyone can pull it off, it’s you, my friend.
The replacement will be here on Thursday. But, my “Jury-rigged” solution has been working just fine, I may not even bother to change it out till it also fails. I have it set to my usual 80psig and that’s fine. I don’t ever change the pressure setting.
You do know that almost all AR2000’s will work.
I have several that I have cut in half and have been sitting outside for quite awhile. After 1 good burn, no more smell
Nice work, I bet that will come in very handy!
Ok, Great! …figured as much.
Might want to think of some adjustable legs for the outside end. Lot of weight and leverage, won’t be stable, and you will be surprised how much your truck will sag.
I keep a set of pipe welding stands in the back of my truck with a 3’ stick of pipe instead of the “V” block. I use it as support when I am working with something big or long off the bumper of my service truck.
Love the idea of incorporating the fixture plate.
I have pipe stands also, might even add legs to it at some point as well. I installed air lift on truck, it wont sag on me.
And you’ll be able to use that to fabricate the next enhancement to your MR-1! There will be no end to this until you reach the geographical limit imposed by your neighbors!
I think it would be cool if we developed an aftermarket for Langmuir Products like people have for Jeeps and AR-15’s. The Grizzly G0704 is crazy popular because the aftermarket support for it.
As for a mount for a vise try a 2” receiver and weld an insert for the receiver to a plate and bolt that to the vise. Drill multiple hole in the insert so you can change the height of the vise.
Very, very nice indeed Richard
That’s gonna be killer on fuel economy. Heck of a sail.
