It's been awhile. Post those projects!

Thanks

It all actually started with

Then I realized there was a huge waste and start looking for options to use it.

I actually found a side view of a blackhawk and did all the tracing one node at a time. It took awhile

Happenstance, I’ve had mine working fine on my machine since I first set it up…?

Mine work, they’re just make the table home to the wrong corner. Serve no purpose to me.

Posted a picture of that aluminum hopper on a planter FB group, now I’ve got orders coming in like crazy. Never really got into making stuff for other people but there seems to be a decent demand for these. I cut the orders off at 16 for the first batch. I really need to finish my press brake rebuild so I have my CNC control

Doesn’t really matter what corner “home” is, really, as long as there is a point used as a reference. I just wish the table had encoders to remember where it was through power cycles

You could use the Limit switches and home as a reference? But only if you indexed your original piece off of home.

Mach3 will offer to save the Fixture settings on power down which is handy if you’re using the same setup over and over again. Maybe y’all with FireControl could request that ‘feature’.

No it goes as it was designed, you guys just do it wrong. Home should be 0,0. :joy: Or at least give me option to home y- x- rather than y+ x-.

While I’m at it, I’ve decided to rebuild my water system. I’ve been using a 20 gal Sterilite tote as my reservoir under the table for the last four years. I’ve always wanted to relocate the system outside the shop (some space savings and should that thing rupture, well). It has served me well and still does, but I really fear a rupture at some point. So I’m rebuilding the system with a tank located just outside the shop walls. Here are some pics:

Front left leg has a power switch for the control box along with an E-stop relay and light. E-Stop button located on the right of machine.

New water ontrol panel pretty much like existing one, only nicer looking (to be mounted front right leg).

New Delrin and Stainless Steel water level probes (old one was PLA 3D printed and brass rods)

Gone this far, may as well spring for a new Rule pump, although the old one has been living happily in the tub of water for the last four years.

Cletus, I would bet your toilet has some sort of electronic regulating whatza-whozit that makes sure the bowl is sparkling clean after use. You describe things that I didn’t even know exist.

Here’s a look at the present “Sterilite” system

Nah, nothing fancy there except Alexa controls the entire house    :beers:

True story and a bit scary.
A few weeks ago we were talking about getting a robot lawn mower. Now my wife has never searched nor have I ever sent her information related to these lawn mowers on her cell phone. Within an hour of my son-in-law and I discussing this in the same room as an Alexa device and my wife, she started getting ads on her phone related to the exact model that we were considering!!! :scream:

AI will rule the world soon!
Oooooh! That’s scary indeed. Never had anything like that happen here. I automated the entire house with Alexa devices in all rooms, and over 35 smart switches, plus IR motion sensors and such all over the place about seven years ago. The hub crashed once and the wife asked “so how do we turn on the living room light?” … “remember the switch on the wall darling? …works same as before, babe!”
       :beers:

Full disclosure: I cannot totally pin this on Alexa.

Everything in this story was true but what I did not say is that she was playing the game “Words with friends” on the WiFi on her phone. It was using the same WiFi that I was using my phone to search on the mower’s website.

My son-in-law suggested somehow the internet provider shared activity of the WiFi (which I would think is wrong, as well). The ad came up on her “Words with Friends” app.

I tell you this…I am a bit more careful what I search for with my phone from here on out…If you know what I mean!!! :joy:  :innocent:

Jimmy, My wife wants a new SUV. We discussed the Range Rover and the latest VW in the living room.
I’ll be damned if I don’t get an email from the local Range Rover dealership. They are listening.
It’s an invasion of privacy in my book.

Do you have Alexa devices?

No sir. Communism in my book. I believe that the cell phones and tablets listen for triggers.

So maybe it was our cell phones and the cell phone company…

…Well, I guess I have taken this conversation far enough off track that I will be put in timeout!!! Sorry folks.

Back to the projects.

(And remember I need a robot mower, Cletus needs a new wash tub and Mrs. BigDaddy needs a RangeRover.)

That doesn’t take a tinfoil hat wearer to really start believing. The targeted ads you’ll get after a random conversation…
