It's been awhile. Post those projects!

Yes…sometimes I actually cut some metal! This story began a few weeks ago when I was backing my dump trailer and realized, it does not have very good illumination for backing in the dark. I decide that needs to be changed. I came up with a plan and I have now fitted my utility trailer with back-up lights. I need to get my dump trailer back from my daughter’s home, as they are reluctant to let go of it, so lights can be designed and fitted as well.

2Rendered Light box

The build: The bending of 12 gauge is a bit resistant. Thankfully I have the HF 20 ton press and then lots of clamps.

Attaching to trailer. Sturdy enough to be a step!!!

Since this trailer only had the 4 flat wiring harness, I converted it to the 7-way RV convention. This will allow the back-up circuit and potential for electric brakes in the future. Blue wires are for adding brakes in the future. The box is acting as a junction box as well.

Lights installed:

Results: Tail lights and then Back up lights (both looking back and looking from behind).

How many do you have to make?
Rendering looks good to me

If it does, and I doubt it, is was purely by accident. I doubt I could duplicate any of the settings. But it does look cool. It would fool someone into thinking I knew more than I did! :upside_down_face:

Started out as a 1 off for two connected seats. Going to use 3… I may try two and see what it’s like. Now have two more guys that want them with 4 connected seats each.

I thought maybe you got some big contract for like 20K of them.
That would be a nice job

No, it’s just a hobby for me.

But you also do a great deal of practical applications as well. So hobby and problem solving?!

Ok this not related to plasma or fab but it’s my latest project. Transmission went out on my forklift and being I am a little on the cheap side, I decided to fix it myself. Here are some pictures of what might turn out be one of my bigger being cheap mistakes. I just want to point out being cheap is not easy!

When you guys start laughing at me, make sure I cant hear you!

Are you saying when I get it all back together and it doesn’t work, I will have to pay $200 a hour to get it fixed?
I knew I should have thought about this more

I would have been on your side some years back, but now I won’t even change the oil in my truck.

Nice work!

Had a request to fabricate a livestock branding iron.

I did the cad/ cam , cutting and a little bit of cleanup and then hand it over to my business partner who assembled and welded it out.

It is made from 3/4 plate 1/2 inch plate and 1/2 rod. I used hypertherm 85 amp consumables with the cut settings from the manual.

The 3/4 is the maximum thickness my machine can pierce.
