It's been awhile. Post those projects!

Pulled a Tom Sawyer this afternoon. Asked my granddaughter for her Christmas list, on it a small shelf. I modeled it in Fusion 360 then she cut, cleaned, welded and painted one of her ‘presents’ for Christmas. All in under 2 hours. Along the way, she welded and spray painted her first project. Sly Grandpa that I am.

Man, that’s the way a grandpa should be! …wish my grand kids weren’t thousands of miles away (California and Colorado), they would be here in the shop, hands dirty, learning so much cool stuff!

Yes Altec Voice of the Theatre powered by KT-88s  :beers:

Now that is cool, very lucky you are. Maybe you should make this to sit on the shelf

Thanks, we’ve been doing stuff together her entire life. You’ll like these photos from 8 years ago.

Hey, I live in Western Colorado, Montrose, send your grand kids over my way to make you some presents. How’s that?

Traditionally, there’s a party here for family, extended family and friends on Boxing Day, then we host a dinner and party for family and extended family on New Year’s Eve.
So, the tube amp is replaced by a MosFet amp … in this country, we like to party! :beers:

How are all of you attaching a 2/3/4 or more piece signs. I’m making one for my brother in law. I thought about double sided tape. Or Chicago screws? It’s going to be painted or powder coated 2 or 3 different colors

I either drill or cut holes in the pieces tig .250 all thread in the holes smooth out with a flap wheel. Clean front and only a couple nuts on the back.

3M VHB tape. It is a little pricy but I have extra from a enclosed trailer rebuild I did last year. It works great. They have two thicknesses. I’ve been using the thinner because I have more of it.

Neodymium magnets you can buy in different thicknesses and if you don’t like the position you can change it. Made these for my brother in-law.

Only about 3 weeks in to using the xr, had some problems with lettering that are sorted now. Loving this machine. Done a bunch of jobs in 1/3 the time I used to by laying out and punching/shearing on my ironworkers.
