It's been awhile. Post those projects!

In straight, but I want that man to hold me and tell me everything is going to be ok.

I was going to add a picture of the casters but I was using my phone and deleted my post :face_with_steam_from_nose:

So yes I let down on to casters and raise it when i am going to use it.

Yes I created a collage of clipart items that i pulled off line and tied it together. there was a lot of editing. trial and error. Customer was quite pleased.

Urgh. When to edit this post to delete the blurry picture and accidentally trashed it.

@langmuir-jake any chance there’s a setting in the discord that will give you a pop up when you hit the trash icon so you have the opportunity to cancel deleting it instead of it just happening immediately.

Anyhow here’s the repost of the deleted post…

Customer wanted crows or Ravens not on a branch so we made several for them to choose from. Also cut one of those wine bottle Rack from FireShare, Thank you James.

Posted this in the 3D Learning thread, but figured it fits this thread more (being CNC-related).

I’ve had this controller for quite some time as I’ve used it to demonstrate Firecontrol to newbies in Zoom meetings and one-on-one FB calls.

Since I just recently bought some 3D printers, I made an enclosure for it. Was surprisingly fast and easy really.

I should add to the above comment in case anyone happens by this post and isn’t on the FB group.

The file is available here for anyone wanting to download and print it - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2015877-langmuir-controller-enclosure#profileId-2172068

I recall one or two individuals at one point wishing they had access to Firecontrol, without being connected to their table.

While this isn’t an answer to that, it can help to safeguard a somewhat bare PCB if they purchased an extra one (or just happen to own a spare).

I use mine quite often to help others learn stuff so I’d like to sit this thing at my desk now versus putting it away each time in its anti-static bag and into a drawer.

It’s much better on the eyes as well.

Been over 2 years since I last built a PC so just started on this one.

Not mine, but a small project I just started last night.

As far as CPU’s go, I opted to go with a Ryzen 5 9600X since they are a much better bang for the buck and are easily beating out Intel in many instances.

My current PC unfortunately runs a 13600K and while it’s amazing, is in the line-up of CPU’s that have had their warranty extended since they were ‘all bad’ out of the gate.

So I’m no Intel or AMD fanboy - I’m a ‘best performance for the cost’ fanboy.

My only gripe with air coolers is that, they can be rather bulky and this one didn’t have any clearance from the ram sticks so I’m forced to run one fan instead of two.

No biggie though because this will mean the smallest difference anyway and won’t affect performance (based on usage).

Fired up

Windows 11 installed along with all its drivers

This PC is ready to head out to its owner!

So what’s the consensus on sheetcam 8? Worth the upgrade? The nesting would be nice. I use deepnest sometimes but its a little clunky being browser based.

I don’t think the bugs are completely out of it if I read correctly. I believe you will find more information about it on the sheetcam forum.

Got time to paint and assemble grinder, went on House made web site the other night to order wheel kit, just my luck out of stock.

Becks Armory has the wheel kit. I have one of his Shredders. I use the 10” or 8" wheel almost exclusively.

Made two pairs of some kind of bracket for a cabinet maker. He sent all the drawings in metric and I took for granted how miniature it actually was till I began cutting. It was making me wish that hypertherm made a ultra fine cut consumable . 2mm holes. Should work out fine. we’ll see how they bend up in the Titan.

These little micro brackets have been finished out and broke.

Realistically these are the kind of parts you would want to get dialed in and build 50 of instead of test bending your finished pieces but they turned out .

long leg was 46mm (1.811”) in the drawing and we got 1.791” in reality . within a 1/48” of a inch.
