HYP Fine Cut Consumables HELP

Should screen record, not phone record. Can’t read the voltage at all.

I did verify cut height just before the 1st attempt. This was reg consumables using smart voltage on the THC

What’s with the “zig zagging” edges there?

I’ve only ever experienced that on my CUT60 when I ran divided, and it went away once I went raw - that was specific to the CUT60 cause well, they’re known for having issues when running divided.

But I’ve never had it occur on my 45XP, so I wonder if something else is going on in your setup.

Maybe not enough to cause what you’re dealing with, but it’s noticeable enough that it’d raise a concern with me if that was my setup.

I did not know you could do that, is that a feature of fire control?

Is this quality what your used to with regular consumables?

Well, I don’t have an Apple product (I despise Apple products) but for certain Windows installations, windows + alt + R will record your screen

Also, if you have an nVidia graphics card it’s safe to assume one would have the nVidia app which also does screen recording

Lastly, there are a plethora of free 3rd party apps for screen recording which would probably be used for older WIndows installations (assuming AMD or on-board graphics even) or maybe some MAC OS versions as well

This way the screen is recorded at the same resolution as the source itself

That phone video is crazy blurry

There are so many simple things I don’t know. Thanks for explaining it to me I will never remember it but I appreciate you taking the time

Cut height is to high. You are getting a lot of moisture in your air. Your z needs to be tightened up as its causing the zig-zag. You also need to make sure your work clamp it on clean metal that is being cut. Also check all your coupler’s are tight as your starts and stops are not in the same line.

Will you circle the “zig zgging” you are referring to?

Which test cut are you referring to, 1st 2nd or 3rd? Work clamp is attached to the metal being cut and the clamp area has been surfcae prepped. Will look at tightening the Z. I dont believe there is any moisture in the air (pics to follow)

At this point I just want to know for myself. Check your private messages if you want to FaceTime and figure this out

You are getting moisture from some were! That is the only thing to burn the cutting tip out that fast. Also the torch height is way to high. Do a straight line cut with the THC off, stop it and use filler gauges to check it. It should be .060 to .080" at 45 amps and .060" at 30 amps give or take a little.

Fine cut consumables (fresh set) THC set to smart voltage

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Can you send me that file?

I too use Fusion, and would do a test cut in 16 gauge using the same exact consumables you and I posted above.

We are doing a video chat tomorrow. I’m sending him a test file with all my settings. Those consumables look terrible for just two cuts. He sent me more pics of some after just one cut. No bueno.

Haven’t we seen that sawtooth pattern on other posts as well and identified it as air issues?

For a good number of members yes, it was definitely air

I recall it sounding like it was “sputtering” in a video or two during cutting

@Bastrawn Do you ever listen to your torch while it’s cutting and notice any fluctuations in how it sounds (outside of how it’s cutting)?

Regardless, you’ll be in good hands with @brownfox

Was just curious to see the file if it was just a dirty file (bunch of nodes) or if your setup was the issue

Those zig zag patterns are Super noticeable

An air issue that exclusively affects Finecuts?

pink is wet blue is dry

@Bastrawn

PINK = WET

BLUE = DRY

the desiccant cell you have holds enough for maybe a 1-2 hours of airflow at 5 cfm 50% duty cycle before it will need to be replaced . That is if you want to maintain the air quality Hypertherm recommends ISO 8573-1 Class 1.2.2

Hypertherm SYNC’s can handle a lot more moisture at a standard of ISO 8573-1 Class 1.4.2
