How do you do that? I looked at their web page and all I see is a form that I can fill out and send, which I did. Do I wait until they respond via email and then send them or is there a different way?
Phone call to tech support starts the whole process (quickly and easily) but, if this was truly user error with an improper installation I doubt anything would come of it.
You may want to measure the orifice on the nozzle to ensure it isn’t a manufacturing defect.
Again, assuming installation was correct.
After all the feedback, I believe that I am the issue. Like @TinWhisperer said, I’m just struggling to believe I misaligned them that many times AND can install the regular nozzle/electrodes just fine.
BTW HYP has already replied and I am in the process of responding with pics.
That electrode is bad, it is firing off center. You would have to work at it to install it wrong unless the swirl ring is bad causing that. The swirl ring just slips down in then the electrode slides into the swirl ring. Unless its a bad swirl ring, dirt or something you can’t mess it up.
What do you think of the inside of the nozzle? It’s like it’s showing a contact point on one side. It is possible to put them in crooked if the nozzle doesn’t seat. You’d have to crank on the cartridge though I think and you’d think the machine would throw an error.
Does the electrode contact the nozzle when firing?
The only way to get things off center is if the cutting tip does not fit squarely in the retaining cup. Yes the electrode makes contact with the cutting tip that is how you get the pilot arc.
I’ll post pictures of my theory later. It might make sense, it might not.
And no, im not going to try to fire my torch misaligned… lol
@Sticks @brownfox @Kwikfab @Knick @TinWhisperer @mechanic416
Brand new electrode and tip, again lackluster results, certainly an improvement but still have issues. The torch went out during the cut and actually drug across the steel, fire control didnt detect the flame out. I have videos of both the cut and thc display that I will attempt to upload after this post.
Apparently can’t upload videos. I also didnt record the cut, I didn’t hit record (dummy)
Ouch
Maybe try running the regular swirl ring?
Not sure if it was mentioned before - some people have good results with the regular swirl ring, others have equally good results with the finecut swirl ring.
I’m a finecut swirl ring user, but if I ever had issues I’d definitely switch to the regular one as a means of troubleshooting.
As for videos, I upload any I record to youtube and post here.
no idea what happened with that upload…
Make it un private.
Have you tried with THC Off?
Link updated
Stll can’t see the video on here. I’ll try with thc off now
Video is pretty hard to see what THC is doing # wise but sure looked like the down and up light we’re on for a long time.
Wonder if video would improve if back ground lighting was off. Also a larger view would help so we can see what is being cut
That’s no good. Not sure if this has been asked “have you verified your cut height?”
I guess you did say you get good cuts with regular consumables right?
