CrossFire XL Expansion Kit Now Available

I get buried at work and don’t get to check the forums for a couple of days  And I have to wait 5-6 weeks :disappointed_relieved:
Glad it’s available now though!

We’re going to do our best to improve on that lead time. We have the next batch of tubing coming in next week and then its back to punching XL kits as fast as we can.

When I priced out doing this myself I was in the ballpark of $125 plus several hours of my time. I don’t see how $150 is unreasonable for not having to lift a finger and just get back to cutting parts that are making me money instead.

just ordered the expansion kit. Not sure how I missed the first batch. First time I saw it on Forum was yesterday. What I really would like to see is THC. One thread had write up and parts list but that would be a stretch for me. Hoping the guys at Langmuir come up with something soon. The little bit I have used the table since getting it a couple weeks ago, I can see that warpage is going to be an issue. Won’t take too many wasted pieces to pay for the upgrade.

That is a downside of the current table. You can mitigate it some by spreading your cuts out across the toolpaths so you don’t cut too much too close - better to cut a bit, move to a more distant area, cut, move back…

That’s a different algorithm than most CAD systems are set for as they usually try to minimize wasted travel time so keep the cuts closely grouped.

You also want to watch the cut and often need to manually force a warped piece down with a hammer handle or something (be careful to stay away from the torch head). It’s not a set it and walk away process.

I had no problem what so ever paying 150. this kit will make my work 110% quicker. This table has allowed me to take my part in the cnc world and make lots of extra money for vacation I just took and for my family. Thanks Langmuir and Danny Downs! you rock!!!

I had ordered the expansion kit and a laptop stand at the same time (I know I’m lazy). I got the message that my order had been shipped and I was so excited and then my package arrived… and it was ONLY the laptop stand

Life can be a cruel mistress

Does the new expansion kit give the table enough motion that we will have to worry about cutting into our water tables? I’ve got the original aluminum version.

Has anyone received the Expansion kit yet?

I was wondering the same thing.

Mine is scheduled for delivery for Tuesday…when I’m in Iowa on business

Im about 30 minutes from Iowa. Was born there actually and lived 1/2 my life there.

I’ll be in Davenport on business until Thursday night. So it’ll be the weekend before I get mine put together.

At least I will have benefit of others putting theirs together first.

Im in no rush to put mine together. ( have tools laying there ready to spring into action)

Mine is supposed to be here Thursday as well! I’ll also be in Iowa when it arrives. But that’s because I live here

I did get the email that said it has shipped, I didn’t track it to see the delivery date, I will most likely not assemble it until I have a free day to mess with it.

I am not in Iowa and have no plans to go there.

Got mine yesterday :sunglasses:
Should have it installed this weekend, really looking forward to the extra travel!

Mine is due tomorrow.:+1:

Got mine installed, took about 1.5 hours.

I recommend keeping tabs on the bolts/spacers/washers you remove and where they go–I just took things apart and then had to go back and watch the original assembly video to figure out where my washers went, and if you go by the original video you’ll have to reverse the order since the water table will be in the way for some of it.

All in all it’s a very easy install as long as you’re organized.
