Paul,

I should have it in the mail today, headed your way.

Thank you. Cant what to get this completed.

Who’s got the dies? I just got new table setup

Nice to see the dies are still making the rounds. I read through the thread and there were a few times where things stalled out, people held the dies for an extended period, didn’t respond to emails, etc. Trying to avoid that, I figured I’d buy my own dies. Don’t own a lathe, so can’t make them myself. I tried, but failed.

My Google-Fu is decent enough. Google shows AliExpress results for a proper sink swaging kit but when I go to the page, the item is no longer stocked. After a couple of hours of searching for “sink swaging die” and every iteration of it, I found one company in Australia that sells a kit with the exact 90mm (3.5") die needed. HERE

I emailed them about buying just the dies and they don’t sell just the dies, despite their website stating so. They want $4,500 + shipping for the kit. :scream: Obviously not happening.

I haven’t modded my drain pans (or assembled) my CrossfirePro yet, but I plan on going with 3/4" bulkhead fittings. These.

The picture on Amazon is deceiving. What looks like two rubber washers is actually only one washer that is 1/4" thick. That stinks. Accordingly, these will sit about 1/2" proud of the bottom, which will leave water/gunk, but they will drain (and fill with the reverse air system) a lot faster than the stock 1/4" drains and they have a standard 3/4" FNPT thread, which makes connecting piping/valving a simple task.

I own a bucket head shop-vac like thingee, in addition to a proper shop vac, so when I empty the table I plan to vacuum up the water/plasma solution and gunk and then run it through a filtered funnel directly into the drain to catch any small bits of metal/gunk. I’m estimating that this additional vacuuming step will take me a whole 10 minutes. Being that I’m a hobbyist and my plasma table will spend much of it’s time drained and covered up, this is non-issue for me.

ps
I learned the hard way that though we are calling these “dimpling dies” they actually aren’t dimpling dies. Dimpling dies form a mushroom-shaped bulge that a sink drain will not sit flat on. What we’re doing is technically called “swaging.” I learned that in the past couple of weeks. That started the search for “swaging dies” and my long path to failure on that acquisition effort.

Are these dies still in circulation? Just ordered my Pro today, so don’t need them yet. But it looks like a great idea. Or did anyone get the measurements for another set to be made? I read thru a lot of the posts from the first year, but saw no dimensions.

I believe Vandy received them last week and once he is done with them he will be shipping them to me. I already messaged him my mailing address.

11Hollywood, if you would, let me know when you receive them, and I’ll send you my address. I just received my table on Monday, and am assembling it now. I’m putting the stock drains in to check for leaks, but it will be ready when the dies are. Thanks!

if the Dies are still available, I would like to use them Please
