Assembly problems/tips

How long did it take from the day you sent payment to the day your machine arrived? I just sent final payment today.

Paid 12/17, arrived 12/29. Conroe TX to Montrose CO.

I’d be fine if it took another week or more…IF, the oil didn’t leak out, all the bolts were installed with nuts and tightened, the drivers were actually bolted in, computer booted up, the backguage actually worked etc etc etc…

We didn’t notice at first but quickly saw that 4 of the 5 ram stickers aren’t applied square to the surface. Maybe we got a Friday afternoon machine.

They need the assemblers name on every build sheet. That is total “I don’t give a shit crap” This way they can be weeded out or trained properly.

Truthfully that huge sticker is a little too much.

A small brass badge name plate in the upper right would give the whole machine a different look.

I miss older machine and equipment badges.

Agree, we’ll pull it off.

you ever get that sinking feeling in your stomach because you just spent over 7k on a new machine and there is a random hex head bolt lying on the shipping pallet?

lots of loose screws on this thing right out of the box.

we’ve all been there, good luck with your hunt.

I had bolts missing out of the antibind arm, I later found in on the shop floor after cleaning up the mess, it’s a long one just like the one in your pic. After you bend a few things, you will love it  bit of a learning curve but you got this!

anyone know why my machine status keeps going to “unknown”?

i am going through setup and it seems like everything i do it sends the machine back to unknown.

i went through the bleeding procedure, machine status go goes to unknown. I create a bend program it does it again. i finally got one bend done and the machine status again went to “unknown”

every time this happens nothing will work and i can’t do anything till i reboot.

i cannot find a trouble shooting guide for this. support has been contacted but it’s a weekend.

idk if this will help, but some people have had issues with the sd card being loose from shipping? somewhere on the main board is the little card, maybe just check if it’s loose, and also check all the cable connections and wires. just throwing that out there.

thank you. it did help. my SD card was not loose or out but i pulled it anyways and turned the machine on and just got the orange Pi logo. i concluded the SD card was necessary. i shut the machine off and put the card back in and it fired up fine with no issues. machine works great. so in a round about way, your advice was helpful.

The orange pi runs off the micro SD card. Also the SD card socket isn’t a locking one, it just slides in.

For future users: The ‘unkown machine status’ is this connection failing.

It may have just gotten unseated and getting that properly plugged back in will help.

good to know, thanks Sam.

had the same issue. i tested the clapm on the other side and it worked fine. my issue was the rail to tub tolerance. i think it was machined too low. mine wasnt too bad and a light/medium mallet tap made it fit.

Hey all, im having some issues with the controller. about half the time i power on its stuck on the splash screen and does not boot. other times it boots but does not reconize my back gague or the monitor “blacks out” periodicly for seconds at a time. I suspect a loose connection on somthing internal but ther seem to be many problems so im not sure what area to focus on. I think tomorow i willl be attemting to remove the back stop copntroller, cleaning up the nest of internal wires and re installing everything. and advise or guides on all the connections would be helpful. thanks!

In terms of fixing up boot times: Bendcontrol Patch 24.1.3 Official Release

The cutting out of the connection is just a wire issue. You could go in, take out the USB-USB cable and the HDMI-HDMI cable in the touchscreen and reverse it to try and get a better connection.
