Adding a rotary axis for tube notching

Interesting, but I looked on their site and didn’t see any documentation on their control software. Is it as ‘intuitive’ as FireControl (he asked facetiously) so you don’t need any documentation?

Here’s your documentation.

Thanks. Looks like a good setup.

It looks good, although I’ve heard through the grapevine that it can’t handle all the cut path rules from sheetcam. I use rules extensively so definitely want to verify that before I make the switch.

Apparently sheet cam has an add in for rotary as well. I haven’t played with anything this in depth yet I’m still learning the basics….

This looks unbelievably promising honestly and if anyone else here can make this run right you just got yourself something equivalent to the bend tech 15k cnc tube cutter

The entire solidworks file is in a link in the comments and I’m trying to learn enough to at least cut the parts . I can print the rotary contact… and I can see a couple mods that need to be done like changing the work clamp contractor but I think this is what I’ll try to build eventually

looks like the drive rollers are repurposed skateboard wheels with a drive kit that can be had ebay/aliexpress/amazon from what i can tell. i’m not sure it matters if they’re 38mm like in the cad file or not bc can set the steps per mm appropriately in the software. i still have a lot of learning to do but i’m getting there. usually a lot of the work i do that people pay bigger $ involves stainless tubing, and being able to design and accurately cut this stuff and not waste what now amounts to at least a couple hundred bucks in stainless tubing every job would really help. i’m slow but i’m getting there. i’d like to be able to offer this whole thing as an instructional here or something for people or sell it complete if i can get the original guy’s permission. … but that might be a pipe dream… get it?
