Hello, I am new to the universe of plasma cutting. I had acquired a crossfire pro table and wanted to go with a budget plasma cutter. I got a Yeswelder 65-ds and have had troubles with the THC, and it is not reading the voltage from the torch to the software. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or whether anyone has advice for hooking up the VIM box to the plasma cutter.
So is it hooked up now and not reading voltage, or do you not have it hooked up at all?
Red on VIM to work clamp and Black on VIM to torch.
I have it all hooked up the way they want it hooked up. I did the red to the work clamp and black to the torch. It doesn’t read voltage now, but I did unplug the THC from the electronics enclosure, and it was reading voltage when resting on the metal casing of the electronics enclosure, interestingly enough.
Post some pics of your setup and how everything is hooked up. You may have to post a couple more times before you can post pics on the forum.
Did you ever figure it out? I have a 65ds and it wort fire
If its a hand torch then it may be one of these. low air pressure, electrode plunger sticking, bad, wrong or mix matched consumables, swirl ring missing, cup contact pins stuck.
How do you have it wired for the torch on/off circuit?
Since the machine doesn’t have any external CNC connections, you would have to trace the wires from the back of the torch connection inside the machine.
The THC voltage connections alone will not fire the torch.
I did end up figuring it out a couple days ago. I had the raw voltage hooked up wrong. I had to open it up and connect the banana plug wires to the back of the mother board inside. I ran them out of the front vent. The torch on/off I went inside to the back of where you’d plug the torch in and soldered it to the existing wires inside. runs no problem now. I’m running it off 110 and its cutting fine. I can post pictures when I get a chance to get out there for you.
I’m sending pictures waiting for them to be approved, the machine fires by hand if I pull the trigger and I hear the click of the solenoid but does not fire from software
Where do the two white wires going out the front panel connect to on the table control box?
I think you have the trigger wires connected in the wrong place. They should be hooked to the trigger wires from the torch connector not to the air solenoid.
Also make sure you get the right consumables as the ones that comes with 40/50 amp for drag cutting. It states its a IPT torch but they send you S45 consumables.
