Y axis is sieze up when cutting

We cleaned out THC based on video from forum. Was cutting great but now it seems like the Y axis is siezeing up when cutting.
What do we need to check now? TIA

With the power to the control box off check your motor plug connections.

Thanks. Hubby said he cleaned them and plugged them back in when he was cleaning the THC today. Of course we have people waiting for Xmas things…ugh

Your welcome! I have had mine not be plugged in good. Do make sure the power is off when confirming connection. You can burn the plugs.

You may also try lubricating the lead screws.

With the machine powered on and connected to Firecontrol, check for holding torque on both Y motors. You should not be able to turn the lead screw by hand. If you can turn one of them, the driver or motor could be bad on that side.

Switch the Y1 and Y2 plugs and see if the problem follows. That will tell you if the problem is the motor or the driver.

It could also be a loose motor coupler on one side. If both lead screws aren’t moving together, the gantry will rack and bind.
