Xometry test part results

Let’s see what they say…. I am within .002” of .005” tolerance range on the profiles.

This one has a 1.205” +/- .001 tolerance….so will be close.

Not trying to say anything bad, but tolerances are tolerances. Either its a good part or a bad part. If its not in tolerances its a bad part, and even if they pass it youll still be having parts you cant make in tolerance. So when you get an actual order will you be able to fulfill it within spec in the timeframe required? I just point this out because either you wont be able to make the parts or youll be sending out bad parts, both are not good. If you send out bad parts and someone complains you might be out that contract and get dinged by xometry, if you cant get the parts out in spec in time youll be out the contract, materials and labor and get dinged. Id say if its not good dont send it out. I wouldnt want out of spec parts if i ordered them. Thats my 2 cents.

Yep. Definitely screen your jobs before you accept them. There will always be parts with tighter tolerances than they need. There will be customers that will run you in the ground over the simplest thing.

How did this end out? Did they accept you? Thinking about the MR-1 for Xometry.

Might want to invest into a better set of calipers, like Brown and Sharpe, and not digital/electronic. Get an analog dial set. Those chinesium digitals are meh at best, and definitely are not calibrated. I wouldn’t trust them to be more precise than ±0.001” (honestly, probably 2 thou) for all intents and purposes, esp once the voltage of your battery starts to droop.

Also, some gauge blocks or pins to verify that your measurements with them aren’t drifting over time.

I use a starrett 798B-6/150 which is digital and always been accurate to the .001 but it does also come with the price tag to match. The ability to zero saves a lot of time when finding hole centers and what not along with hitting a button for converting to metric
