Who at Langmuir is going to address and fix the problems with the Titan?

There is an ever increasing long list of design flaws, software problems and issues with the Titan. I assume that the Titan is in beta early release form, so that the issues can be worked out before full production release. Instead of assuming this, I’d like a definite and clear answer on whether or not LS is willing, open, and interested in making changes to fix the Titan? If so, I think there should be a pinned forum topic or private group for those of us who want to see changes in this machine - for those of us who are willing to take the time and effort to provide detailed feedback and change requests to solve these issues. I see Sam is the main guy on this forum - tasked with paperwork, shipping, assembly problems, troubleshooting for fixing known and existing problems etc etc, but as far as making changes and updates to the software, I would like to know who that person is or if a design change team exists ? I think it’s long overdue to have a dedicated location for change requests. I think you have a good basic machine and i hope you sell millions of them, but there are issues that need to be addressed and changed for me to keep this machine in my shop - i’m to the point where I need to know if LS is willing to make changes or it goes for sale on Ebay. I’d even be willing to fly to LS in Texas and sit down at the table to give you valuable feedback, and I’m sure others have valuable opinions and feedback to offer as well. What says LS? Y or N ?

I’ll start : When I press the pedal down, I want the ram to come down - when I release the pedal, I want the ram to retract - this is the most basic, simple opp for any mechanical or hyd press, and every machine i’ve seen is able to do this. I don’t want to be forced to press 4 different location screen tabs each and every time for each individual movement. I don’t want to press 3 or 2 or 1 buttons to do this most basic and simple opp… and I don’t want to hear "it’s a Ferrari, it’s a precision scalpel, it’s a $4k machine etc etc… This machine should be able to easily, quickly and simply perform this most basic task, WITHOUT pressing the screen 3 times. Currently I don’t see any options to do this - manual mode requires 4 buttons, each move, and it won’t repeat any of them on it’s own.

Great idea. Start a new topic about features and a wish list. This new product is priced so that some inexperienced brake operators can use it safely. Langmuir has to protect itself from the Darwin group that we all know exists on this earth. And the ambulance-chasing law firms.

Excellent idea on a pinned feedback topic. I’ll get one made. We do have people working on improving the machine - we just came out with a completely revamped coding framework for the bendcontrol software eleven days ago. Continuous improvement is our goal.

In terms of the bend movement you described, that may be more difficult. The press brake does not have a light-screen so, the movement actuation needs to be actuated with proper dead-mans switch movement triggers for safety. Any downward movement is going to at the very least require a double-tap on the foot pedal. There is a repeat bend stroke option on the manual mode movement right now. Still, there is potential room for improvement there. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a foot pedal control in the works that I plan on sharing when I have it finished. The palm buttons will be located on the sides with a key lock switch to overide them to the left pedal.

Also please add Metric measurement system option. I believe it is a must since we got our machine a few weeks ago and we are having hard time to calculate metric measurements to inch.

Moreover, please consider increasing the size of the several touch screen buttons. There are tons of screen area that can be utilized in much better way.

a good set of light curtains cost less than $200, smaller sets as little as $50.

Good set? I consider Banner and Keyence a good set… Who are you buying light curtains from?

I guess we have different definitions of good…

well since you know everything there is to know about machine design then why don’t you buy a set of 50.00 light curtains and be done with it?
