What I am I doing wrong?


I am following a cut chart I’ve been using since the start of the original crossfire two years ago (almost) 14 ga
The whole cut does well except for the initial pierce, I have 1 second pierce delay 90 ipm, 35 amps, I even tried 45 amps same deal

seems like too long of a pierce delay. I sped mine up to .5 seconds for 14 gauge

here the thing, i had it at that delay setting of .5 at first, still managed to do this, is it the default settings of the THC?

Are you seeing pierce through before motion happens? If not, then you need to increase the pierce delay.

i will go up to 1.5 and see what happens

Well it’s not the pierce delay, ! It pierces through then I lifts enough to gauged it then cut the rest.

should i increase the voltage sample size in the fire control?

Have you taken a look at this, still haven’t figured it out

I’m having a similar problem on 14 gauge but not as bad. Mine leaves a much smaller tab. I can easily bend it to snap it off but it leaves some material that needs to be grinder off. I’m running a Hypertherm 45 XP with 0.4 sec pierce delay at 45 amps and 200 IPM per Hypertherms cut chart. I’m still trying to find the answer to this.

I changed my pierce delay fro 0.4 to 0.6 and it fixed the problem. I’m sure your problem might be different than mine.
