Using an MR1 Spindle Assembly on my machine

I didn’t do enough market research, because I would have bought the MR1 if I knew of its existence.

So I am doing my first cut, and the spindle is amazing. Couldnt be happier, but it gets really warm… Too warm to touch for too long. Both the servo as well as the spindle housing gets really warm. Im just wondering if this is normal for this unit? I know the MR1 has a “dust shield” of sorts so its difficult to feel the surface temos probably. Can anybody advise if this is normal?

Specs:

7500RPM
6061 Aluminum
3/8 2 flute end mill
1mm DOC
500 mm/min feedrate

I heard back from Langmuir today and they said temps up to 175F is just fine if running at high RPMs… So pretty sure im OK  I have some fans aimed at it just for some insurance

BTW, The only original part that I have from my MR-1 spindle is the shroud. I’d give it to you for the cost of shipping if that is something that you’d be interested in. If nothing else it provides another layer of protection to keep chips out of the belt.
