I’m sorry man, I hope they can get back on track. Now that they are past the date, I think a weekly email update for those of you with deposits would be appropriate. It just isn’t what they have done in the past.
I gotta say if you had bought my “CNC press” I could have shipped the next day. For a full price offer I would even pay for you to get an updated tetanus shot.
I think my expectations are a bit skewed. I waited 7 months for a well driller who was always one or two weeks out every time we talked. We did have weekly calls initiated by me tho. The well has now been finished for a month and the rig is still there. The next well he is drilling is less than a 1/4 mile from ours.
Hopefully these pics will make you smile. My oldest turned 5 last week. My mom bought him a Lego set for 7+ He actually did a pretty good job following the plan. I had to help him finding the pieces sometimes. Its a Lego firetruck, he hasn’t stopped playing with it since he got it together Sunday.
Everyone who signed up and paid their $500 on a pre-order knows how to get it back if they’re that desperate for it. If they wanted a sure thing with a specific ship date they should have found someplace with something they wanted that was in stock and ready to ship. I hate to say I told you so to the people whining about machines not shipping in May, but I said at the very beginning that no one should be planning on timely delivery of a machine that fits all their expectations until it actually happens. Even Mazak delivers machines late sometimes.
It’s starting to feel like this forum is full of 15 year olds, and I should know, I have one sitting in the other room. I stand by what I said about @natel (and anyone else who’s paid their balance on the machine) being the only ones here with a legitimate gripe about their money being tied up without a shipping confirmation.
Edited to add: @PlasmaWorx what you got by signing up early during the “introduction deal” and paying your $500 deposit was being towards the front of the list of people who will get their machine. Not a contractual guarantee that they’d ship your machine in May. Be glad or not, up to you, we were all offered an opportunity with clearly defined expectations, and the only ones mad are the ones who are expecting things they weren’t promised, and no, an estimate or projection of when machines might start shipping 6 months in advance is not a promise, no matter how hard you want it to be.
I absolutely understand peoples frustration. This day and age I would suggest people give grace and be patient. Manufacturing is a chaotic world during normal times, which we do not live in anymore.
Most likely they are having all manner of issues with vendors, their promises and so forth.
Nobody wants to anger a large customer base. Sometimes, silence means they are working, and there is nothing new to say.
We are all looking forward to getting these machines in our shops.
I’m far less upset with the delay, than I am the lack of communication from Langmuir.
The fact remains it takes near zero effort to update the group on status and no one should defend the lack of communication.
“Hey guys i know everyone’s anxious and we are too. We’re working out some bugs to make sure the users don’t run into issues we appreciate your patience.”
My opinion is that it would be nice if we had more communication, but nowhere in the pre-order information did I see that they promised to give us frequent, or for that matter any updates. So while I’d feel better with more information, I’m not upset in the least that we haven’t gotten any because I never expected any besides the one I’d get when my order was ready to be finalized.
I absolutely want them to ship the product when they are confident the software is ready for the public. I have complete confidence in Langmuir to get this right. The launch of the MR1 was similar, and it all worked out just fine.
I’m with you. Seems as of lately that we the people have been the beta testers for companies so they don’t have to put years into product testing to get it right. I gotta say I miss just going and buying something that just works out of the box.
This is my first Langmuir product. My only confusion is that when they advertised at PRI, where I ordered, they did not say this machine was in development. I can understand delays if that was the case. I had no idea they were still writing software and changing major components like tool holders. They did not advertise that when talking to them. They said this was a finished product and was now being manufactured. Really it was a prototype I am now finding out.
Like has been said, oh well, but they have said they would provide updates if the ship dates were delayed and they have been radio silent.
Well guys, Tuesday has come to an end and Langmuir has missed their “promised” ship date again. Paid just shy of 10k in full over two weeks ago and was told it would ship Friday 6-21. was told the day before it was supposed to ship that it would be shipping possibly Monday, no later than Tuesday. No email or contact at all from anyone at Langmuir about another shipping delay. Never got one for the first delay either, I reached out first. So I must agree with everyone in this forum on the fact that Langmuir has a MAJOR communication issue which alone is extremely frustrating completely aside from the fact that I have 10K wrapped up into a machine that I have work for but cant do to begin to get a return on my investment… Time is money and every day I am loosing both. Officially P.O. I will keep you all posted as the week goes on. They wanted my feedback, well here it is. …rant over…
Mr. Natel it has been said you are the only one with a right to complain. All of the concerns could be resolved or mitigated with communication. period. nuf said.
I am actually kind of glad I still have 1-3 months past promised shipments begin date as those in front of me will certainly either be communicative towards results.
I think it will work out in the end. I do believe there is an underlying issue not being shared.
It is not acceptable in 2024 when communication has never been easier for a company to remain silent.
The effort to post here is so minimal that anything less should not be tolerated.
I owned the OG crossfire and when I purchased that from Langmuir as a round 2 preorder, communication from Danny and mike was exceptional. You called and that’s who you spoke to with the best customer service under the sun.
They obviously grew from there and the customer service didn’t scale accordingly.
The products are still great. I love my 4 arcflats that I use every day and I’m still very excited for this press. I just wish they would communicate. It really isn’t asking much.
We 100% understand the frustration and we are happy to announce that the first batch of TITAN 25Ts are shipping today with another batch going out later this week. Everyone that has received and completed their balance payment will ship this week. We did have to take a few extra days for software development to include some great features we are confident you will appreciate, such as wifi-enabled machine updates, backup and save bending profiles, and more. We will also be posting the TITAN 25T Quick Start guide this week! Here is a photo of the first units boxed and being actively loaded on a truck as I type this!
Thank you again for the support. Our leadership team appreciates the engagement and patience as we ramp up production on this exciting product for our loyal customers!
