Torch wont test fire prime weld cut 60

i just set up my table and wired the barrel plug connecter to pin 1 and 2 in cnc port plugged it in the control box it will not test fire with fire control. plasma is prime weld cut 60. wires are correct i crossed 1 and 2 from cnc port and torch fires…the barrel plug feels like it does not fit proper when plugged in is this normal? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks..

On a new setup you should be good to go assuming you did a good soldering job on the pinout.

You can unplug the barrel connector and take a paperclip to short it out, which should cause it to fire.

If it doesn’t fire, try firing it off with the hand torch to ensure it isn’t something simple like an air compressor left off or something.

Another guy had an issue with a torch extinguishing shortly after firing only to find out the circuit was tripped for his air compressor. So his air compressor wasn’t even on and it was running off the air remaining in the tank.

If you do a manual fire in firecontrol, do you here a click for the control panel? it could be the relay isn’t fully seated or is bad.

if you don’t hear the click, then take for cover off the control panel and reseat the relay and try to manual fire again.

Where is the barrel plug connected?

It might seem like an odd question, but many people have plugged it into the open port on the VIM(black plastic box) by mistake.

It must be plugged into the electronics enclosure where it says “torch on/off”.

take out the relay and plug it back in. sometimes that’ll work. if it doesn’t then it went bad which can happen.
