I ran into a problem with my torch not firing. Ive had similar issues in the past that was due to torch problems and height settings etc etc. But this is different. There is no voltage showing on the torch height control. I dont hear the relay click nor does any air come out of the torch like it normally does. However i can pull the trigger on the torch manually and it fires just fine. Also i dont know if the thc module is supposed to light up a certain color? It is currently red if that means anything. Been using my setup for quite some time now without issues.
If its worth mentioning, everything else works fine. x axis, y axis and z axis. Shut off THC and pull trigger manually and it runs a program fine. Leave thc on as i always do, since i use it, and it stops. Then a window pops up that says TOrch moving before cutting voltage sensed.
Crossfire Pro table using Fire Control software and a PrimeWeld Cut60 torch.
It could be a number of if things. I would start with checking the torch on/off cable. They tend to break at the connector, if you accidentally step on the cable.
It could also be a bad torch firing relay on the board.
what is the torch on/off cable? nothing has been stepped on or anything that would effect the cable/wiring to my knowledge. the torch fires manually perfectly fine. The voltage reads zero the entire time and doesnt change. relay would make sense but what can i do about that? the thc module flashes red, does that mean anything? ive went through everything in the thc troubleshooting.
The torch on/off cable goes from the plasma cutter to the torch on/off port on the front of the control box. It’s the connection that allows Firecontrol to fire the torch.
If the relay is bad, you can get a new one from Langmuir and switch it out.
is there a wiring schematic or pinout for that relay board available so i can test the relay to make sure its the issue? looks like a automotive relay, wouldnt doubt i have another in the shop somewhere and solder a new one on the board…
i also couldnt find the relay anywhere on the website
