Anyone had issues with a Beck’s armory laser alignment fixture causing torch misfires? The torch works great everything works fine unless I turn on the alignment lasers and then it drops down sets initial height fires once and then shuts down and says there’s a misfire.
The bottom clamp is too tight. I leave my finger tight on the business end of the torch; by squeezing, The pilot arc plunger is getting stuck. You will love that laser holder. Just loosen up on the screws and check the plunger operation. Push up with your finger, and it should snap right back down. Also, check the battery wiring and make sure it’s not compromised.
But he says it works fine until he turns them on.
Are the diodes powered from one of the USB ports? That could be killing his connection.
Becks power them from a battery pack. I use a security camera power supply to run mine. Hopefully, he will not be trying to power them from his computer.
Nope, powered from the battery pack. The torch works perfectly fine except when I turn the lasers on and try to start cutting.
Very interesting. Well, that’s a new one for the books. I can’t imagine how it would interfere.
EMI from one of the diodes?
Not sure. I love the mount, lasers, etc. Imma email becks tomorrow. No complaints at all about the product, just probably on my end. Lol
The real question is why are you leaving it on while cutting?
You use the lasers to position the torch… then just turn them off…
And you may be absolutely right! I have no idea! I’ve just started plasma cutting with this one and this was a upgrade that I got because I loved the fact that it was not a universal amount to the torch. I may be just overanalyzing this. Everything else is working excellent!
Fan of the torch mount myself, but I don’t even have the lasers installed.
