Tool eating after baseplate surfaced

Hello everyone i have a question is this normal to happen to the end mill after only baseplate surface?

If no what would be happening?

Hell nah. How deep of a cut did you take? Also looks like the mill smashed into the baseplate and broke off the ends.

I just followed the instructions on the installation guide and the lowest spot was around .03 i think

Did you maybe skim a tie-down bolt?

Maybe you found a little bit of concrete in a hole somewhere. That definitely isn’t normal though.

What is that? Do you mean the main bolt of the baseplate? No i don’t see it hitting it

Yeah, those bolts go pretty far down so I wouldn’t think so, but seeing that tool without any other evidence, that was my best guess.
I could see what Skipshift was saying about concrete too, though.

Ive gotten some of those same endmills before from CME or somewhere like that. They didnt last very long, so ive relegated them to the Bridgeport or for doing sketchy stuff like hardmilling and spotfacing stainless.

I agree with the others though, that looks like it hit concrete.
