I finally figured out the software etc and now I can only cut a single hole in the steel!!
I have a CF-Pro and am using a Titanium 45 Plasma cutter using the hand cut torch. I’m using between 100-110 PSI, running it on 240V, am getting continuity on the cutter and table, I have it clamped to the drain extension. The Torch height is at .15”, Pierce Ht delay between .5, .75 and 1 second(s) (tried all 3) and getting the error message “to fast/slow etc”, cut Ht at .055”, Feed rt. 90 IPM, sometimes it fires then goes out, sometimes it does nothing, sometimes it blows air and no flame. The cutter itself throws F07 error codes too. The Consumables and tip look fine, cleaned them with a wire brush, even swapped them out. I pulled the cutter off and it will burn for about 5’ish seconds then cut off and “hiss at me”. I’m so frustrated to be this close I could punch babies and throw kittens into traffic (kidding). Anyone else having these issues? Any info would be great.
Try clamping directly on the metal that you are cutting. The pilot arc will only fire for a few seconds, if it doesn’t transfer to the cutting arc by connecting to the metal.
Remove the torch from the table. Get a piece of metal and put the work clamp on it and use the trigger and see if it will cut the metal. Keep the cutting tip about a 1/16” off the metal. Then get back to us.
So i tested it this morning and it fired right up but stalled out after a few seconds, threw the F07 (consumable error) code, tapped it on the material and it fired right back up and cut again. Thoughts? the cup doesn’t look warped. But I did crank down on it initially when I hooked it up. The tip if pushed from the side will stick down or offset until tapped it seems.
So, i think when the cutter touches the table to sense the height the tip IS sticking and throwing errors. Its sticking at an angle usually or just straight in. Im thinking this is the issue by it sticking its not allowing air to flow. Now the hole where the electrode is in the pic looks damaged at the 10-11 o’clock position. Could this be it? @Bigdaddy2166 this is what im using.
I would get with George, @mechanic416 . That torch appears to be cross-threaded or damaged in some way. Did someone put pliers or vise grips on it? George can get you a new torch head assembly if required. Does the electrode push up and snap back with your finger?
the electrode doesn’t stay depressed but it doesnt fall out freely if you tip it over. I didnt out pliers to it. But i did buy it second hand, I know, LOL.
So, my step-dad brought his Plasma cutter over and we hooked it up and the table works great. I’m thinking because the tip on mine is sticking when is goes to sense the height and then sticks is the problem. So, I need to figure out how to get a new tip/guts or cable and do the worst-case scenario and buy a whole new Plasma cutter. Thanks everyone for their help and input.
Personal message the guy @mechanic416 . He can sell you the new part or you can send it to him to fix. He has a plasma shop in Delaware and is a major contributor here on the forum.
Sorry been out all day. You will need a new torch head. It will cost $150 + shipping. Or I have a new complete torch for $290 + shipping. Or you can change it to a IPT60 torch head so you can use better consumables. PM me and we can talk about all the options.
