Hi there cutters,
I have a problem with my THC, It will fire but it wont move and I have to shut the welder off to get it to shut down. When the THC is off it works fine. I have tried a few things and will check the voltage and that but it does fire good, it just doesn’t move. Any suggestions?

Classic emi freezing fire control. Laptop charging while trying to cut? Could also be cable management.
@Barrybudd has the THC ever worked with your setup? Are you running a pro or an XR?

It was running fine for about six months. It’s a pro standard setup.
The computer is not plugged in.
It does sound like something is freezing. I may go through the THC problem page but I tried that once and the numbers seemed fine.I will give it another go and trace and clean up the wires and check connections .

Pay attention to the USB cable from the laptop to the control box. It needs to be isolated from the torch cable. Has anything changed in your setup? You can also do a search on the forum and find many threads identical to your issue. You may be able to find the solution in on of those threads.
loose THC chip in the electronic enclosure?
This might be the wrong place for this, but since you brought it up, I’ll sneak in a question. I am just setting up my Crossfire Pro. Haven’t made any fire yet. I put FireControl on a Microsoft Surface Pro that should have plenty of computer horsepower, but the battery is weak. I always use it plugged in so it doesn’t die. Am I just asking to have a problem?

You can use a 3 prong to two prong adapter and charge while cutting. You will get a ground loop from the plasma through the breaker box back the computer. It will freeze fire control nearly every time. The idea is to eliminate the ground prong. It isn’t ideal but.
I might be ok. This computer has a power brick with a two-prong cord. We’ll see and I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks!
It will be fine. I run my table with a mini PC it only has a 2 prong plug .
