So I do have an update. I’ve had to do a couple cuts even though I didn’t want to and they turned out okay but bottom dross has still been an issue. I was looking at your last reply and I got to thinking about the entire torch assembly, and realize that shortly before all of this started I did replace the consumables and I think I may have put the swirl ring in the wrong way (if there is such thing as the wrong way - I read that the ipt-60 is supposed to have a symmetrical swirl ring) but I oriented it according to one of your previous posts, which was opposite the way I found it in my torch. I had to do four cuts, they’re not large, each one is about 5" by 13". I got a little bit of top dross at the holes, that’s normal for me. But now the bottoms are SUPER clean, very little dross. Everything else is the same so to me, this looks like an issue where I just put that swirl ring in upside down and it made a difference. I will definitely update here if I find anything else, but for now I think my problem is solved. Thanks for your help everyone!

So the orientation the swirl matters? How can you tell? I typically just toss it on there….
Here is a good older topic discussing it.
