Trying to finish bed plate machining on new machine. Ran 4 passes fine. Tried to run light finish pass and got “Hard limit triggered. Machine position is likely lost due to sudden and immediate halt”. Behaved the same over 3 more attempts, including 2 at normal feed speed. Never failed in the same place during the run.
Ideas?
Make sure you don’t have a loose switch connection, it will trigger a limit with an open circuit.
Can you upload a pic of cutcontrol when it fails? Which file are you using for the surfacing?
Make sure you arent bottoming the spindle or running too close to the travel limits.
@FabDoc sometimes the soft limits can cause strange issues with the software. Try disabling the soft limits in the CutControl settings and try running the pass again.
