All 3 main step motors arrived with black wire cover outside of motor case. Questioned LS and told not to worry. But stress on wires over time, dust and moisture entry point, and appearance was not what I wanted. I tried silicone but would not adhere to case. Then I tried black gasket material that will handle heat movement and proved to adhere to the steel and rubber. Not pretty, but sure seals the power cord going into the stepper motors.

That’s interesting. They all used to come with ABS strain relief covers on the motor end. No worries, though. It would be rare that the motors would be wet. I think a small amount of black silicone would be suitable.
