Spindle won't run

I ran my first two cuts on the base plate and was almost ready to do a finish pass. Had to home after a shut down and had a little issue with the Y-limit switches (some dumb-ass forgot to tighten the jam nuts) and had to redial them in. Rehomed and reloaded the cut program, but spindle won’t work.
Any ideas??

Check breakers, switches and plugs.

Did all that, Uninstalled and reinstalled CC, rebooted computer and homed the system. When I load the baseplate cut program it takes off, but no spindle. Rehomed and tried manual spindle, but I get a “red” ghost when turned on - stuck at 1000rpm, but doesn’t run.

no noise or nothing? DId you check the fuse.

Sounds like an encoder issue if it thinks it’s at 1000 rpm and not turning. Double check the encoder plug on the back of the enclosure. Maybe got bumped while you were behind the machine?

where is there a fuse??

Are you using a step-up transformer? if so there is a small switch in the back of the step-up transformer that may be set to the wrong position.

nope - all Langmuir equipment

The fuse is on the control box at the very bottom. It’s the typical electronics style that uses a flat blade screwdriver to remove. 20A AGC I believe.

Fuse is good

Double check the power connection’s for the spindle All the plugs, screw connections everything.
With the spindle turned off spin the endmill 90 degrees and try to engage the spindle again.

If you have a multimeter and are comfortable try to measure the voltage before and after the fuse in the controller (not looking for any set voltage just make sure their the same).

I don’t have an MR1 so I can’t be more helpful than just general electrical troubleshooting.

Well tomorrow I’m going to unplug everything and take the control box to the bench, pull the cover and check every connection. It sure would be helpful if Daniel would chime in.

f

Pulled the box, popped the cover and checked every single wire. Did not check the Z control wire or power as that requires more surgery. Now waiting on Langmuir to troubleshoot.

Inside the control box is a motor control PMC
It should have what looks like a 6 on the left and a 0 on the right of the LCD when plugged up.

PMC shows no LED readout. I do have power from the 220V switch.

Is there a fuse on the PMC?

not that I see - Langmuir sending a new one.
